Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; valid driver’s license required.
• Experience with large vehicles preferred.
• Must have a clean driving record with no major violations in the past 5 years; immigrant status is accepted.
• Must be able to read maps, utilize GPS systems and follow written/verbal traffic directions.
• Ability to lift heavy items and work long hours when needed.

Responsibilities

• Operate vehicles such as cars, vans, buses, or trucks to transport passengers or goods.
• Follow established traffic laws and safety regulations when driving.
• Pick up passengers at designated locations or coordinate with customers to determine pick-up/drop-off points.
• Ensure the vehicle is in proper working condition by conducting routine maintenance checks.
• Load/unload goods from the vehicle as necessary.
• Complete pre-trip inspections of the vehicle before leaving on trips.
• Provide excellent customer service to clients by assisting them with their luggage and other needs on trips.
• Record trip details including miles traveled, fuel costs, and any incidents encountered during trips in a log book.
• Respond appropriately to emergencies such as accidents or breakdowns while on the road.
• Maintain cleanliness of the interior/exterior of the vehicle at all times.
