Job summary

ALPLA INC. in Saudi Arabia seeks a Shift Supervisor for the Dammam site to lead a production team across process, packing and cleaning, ensuring KPIs are met and production targets are achieved. You will manage changeovers, perform mechanical adjustments, troubleshoot issues, and enforce safety standards round the clock.

Proficiency in English, 2+ years in plastics molding, and knowledge of moulding processes are required. Willingness to work day/night shifts and extended hours is expected.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or 2-year technical degree.
• Knowledge of plastics injection molding equipment, processes and control systems.
• Minimum 3 years hands-on experience in blow or injection molding, setups, troubleshooting and process improvement.
• Must communicate in English and prepare manpower schedules as per production plan.
• Production figures must be collected for handovers and KPI tracking.

Responsibilities

• Oversee shift resources allocations across process, packing and cleaning teams.
• Perform changeovers and mechanical adjustments as required.
• Troubleshoot mechanical/process issues and adjust equipment as needed.
• Ensure safety processes and 5S are followed during the shift.
• Coordinate with quality control, warehouse and maintenance personnel.
• Collect production data and hand over to the next shift accurately.
• Manage repacking and material inventories for the shift.

• Should handle all shift resources allocations in an effective manner (Process, Packing & Cleaning Team)
• Should be able to perform a product change over and to do all necessary mechanical adjustments if required
• Should be able to troubleshoot in case of mechanical or process issues and do all necessary mechanical adjustments.
• Adjust Machines after a change over until the article reaches the required quality if required
• Ensure that there are adequate safety processes are in place
• Put checks and balances to ensure that production is intact, and KPIs/targets are achieved
• Responsible for waste management, regrinding, material consumption inventory accuracy and repacking activities in the shift
• Ensure efficient repacking activities in coordination with planning & warehouse
• Reporting for any unusual equipment functions or deviation from the planning to the Production Manager
• Assures that all relevant production figures are collected for the handover to the next shift
• Responsible for all material inventories on his shift duty
• Responsible that all reports are filled out/prepared correctly
• Supervises all 5S activities in shift and report in case of any failures to Production Manager
• Responsible for correct data entry Oracle and ALPLA systems, Assess it with the team. Highlight all variations to production manager.
• Coordination with quality control, warehouse, and maintenance personnel
• Ensures 5s activities are carried out/implemented
• Report and cross check process standards, quality checks and other checklists according to SOPs
• Ensure that products are defect free and produced according to quality standards
• Ensures that team is trained on the Safety Standards

Experience(s)

• Required are at least three years of hands-on experience in blow or injection molding, setups, troubleshooting and process improvement.

• Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Operation System.
• Intermediate knowledge of MS Office.
• Must be able to communicate with others in English
• To prepare/execute manpower schedule/plan as per the production schedule
• Relevant production figures are collected for the handover to the next shift
• Ensures that production staff is trained according to skill matrix
• Responsible for repacking and adequate allocation of resources
• The shift supervisor is responsible for all employees in his shift
• Ensures all employees understand and follow company policies and procedures
• Ensures all employees work in a safe manner by following company regulations
