Job summary

AtkinsRéalis in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, seeks a Planning & Scheduling Engineer to develop, maintain, and update detailed project schedules using Primavera P6 and coordinate with engineering, procurement, construction, and commercial teams.

The role also includes monitoring baselines, analyzing variances, preparing reports, and supporting risk analysis and recovery plans to ensure schedules meet contractual milestones.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
• PMI-SP, PSP, PMP or AACE certifications are highly desirable.
• Minimum 15 years of experience in planning and scheduling for major infrastructure projects.
• Experience in PMC or engineering consultancy environment.
• Extensive experience on roads, highways, bridges, tunnels and transportation projects.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and update detailed project schedules using Primavera P6.
• Prepare baseline schedules, work breakdown structures (WBS), and project execution plans.
• Monitor project progress against approved baselines and identify variances.
• Coordinate with engineering, procurement, construction, and commercial teams to ensure schedule alignment.
• Review and evaluate contractors' baseline schedules, recovery schedules, and revised programs.
• Ensure schedule compliance with contractual requirements and project milestones.
• Develop short-term and long-term look-ahead schedules to support project delivery.
• Track project progress and productivity against planned activities.
• Analyze schedule performance and critical path activities.
• Identify delays, bottlenecks, and potential schedule risks.
• Prepare schedule variance analysis and recommend corrective actions.
• Support the development of mitigation and recovery plans where required.
• Perform schedule integrity and health checks.
• Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports, dashboards, and management presentations.
• Develop key planning and performance indicators (KPIs).
• Support project forecasting and earned value assessments.
• Assist in change management processes by evaluating schedule impacts arising from design changes, variations, and claims.
• Coordinate with cost control and risk management teams to ensure integrated project controls reporting.
• Participate in planning and progress meetings with clients, contractors, consultants, and project teams.
• Provide planning advice and recommendations to Project Managers and Project Controls teams.
• Ensure effective communication of schedule status, key milestones, and critical issues to stakeholders.
