Valor Health is seeking a Patient Access Specialist to manage patient registration for acute and ambulatory settings, greet patients, and verify insurance eligibility. The role includes pre-registration, scanning forms into the EMR, and handling payments like copays and deductibles.

The position requires high school diploma or equivalent, experience in a hospital business office, and proficiency with word processing, spreadsheets, and databases. Cross-training and rotating shifts may be required.

Competenze

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in a hospital business office or admitting office.
• Proficiency with computer-based word processing, spreadsheets and databases.
• Ability to operate a hospital-wide telephone switchboard.
• Data entry and customer service experience is a plus.

Mansioni

• Register patients for both acute and ambulatory settings.
• Greet patients and visitors in person or by phone.
• Verify insurance eligibility.
• Pre-registers patient accounts and updates them after arrival or discharge.
• Scan registration forms into the EMR system.
• Collect copays, deductibles, and co-insurance.
• Answer multi-line phones and transfer calls as needed.
• Notify staff of patient arrivals for STAT procedures or exams.
• Schedule patients according to provider scheduling preferences.
• Cross-train across registration areas and rotate shifts.
