Job summary

Manpower Resources India Pvt. Limited, a leading executive search firm, has mandated a position for an Mould Operator in a large integrated steel plant in the Middle East. The role requires 9+ years of experience and qualifications BSc, Diploma, or ITI (full-time regular).

You will operate and monitor the CCM mould area, ensure stable billet quality, and coordinate with Pulpit and tundish teams while adhering to SOPs, HSE, and safe working practices.

Qualifications

• Operate and monitor the CCM mould area and associated equipment.
• Knowledge of mould oscillation, cooling-water flow, pressure and temperature.
• Understand copper mould, mould lubrication and related caster components.
• Experience with ensuring stable steel flow from tundish/SEN into the mould.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor the CCM mould and related equipment during casting.
• Monitor mould level, cooling-water flow, pressure and temperature.
• Ensure proper functioning of copper mould, mould oscillation system and mould lubrication.
• Monitor and maintain stable steel flow from tundish/SEN into the mould.
• Coordinate with the CCM Pulpit Operator for mould-level and casting-speed adjustments.
• Identify abnormal conditions such as mould level fluctuation, excessive mould vibration, water leakage, abnormal temperature, copper mould wear/damage, steel breakout indications.
• Assist in mould changeover, mould preparation and start-up/shutdown activities.
• Ensure correct installation and condition of copper mould, mould tube, foot rolls and related components.
• Monitor mould oscillation parameters and ensure smooth operation.
• Check mould lubrication system and ensure adequate lubrication as per SOP.
• Support casting start-up, sequence change and emergency casting procedures.
• Coordinate with Pulpit, Tundish and Field Operators during casting operations.
• Assist Mechanical, Electrical and Instrumentation Maintenance teams during troubleshooting.
• Maintain proper housekeeping and ensure safe working conditions around the mould platform.
• Follow SOPs, HSE procedures, PPE requirements and emergency procedures at all times.

Job Purpose

The Incumbent will be responsible for operating, monitoring and maintaining the CCM mould area to ensure stable primary solidification, consistent billet quality and safe continuous casting operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor the CCM mould and associated equipment during casting.
• Monitor mould level, mould cooling-water flow, pressure and temperature.
• Ensure proper functioning of the copper mould, mould oscillation system and mould lubrication.
• Monitor and maintain stable steel flow from tundish/SEN into the mould.
• Coordinate with the CCM Pulpit Operator for mould-level and casting-speed adjustments.
• Monitor mould condition and identify abnormal conditions such as:
• Mould level fluctuation
• Excessive mould vibration
• Water leakage
• Abnormal temperature
• Copper mould wear/damage
• Steel breakout indications
• Monitor and maintain mould cooling-water circuits and report abnormalities immediately.
• Assist in mould changeover, mould preparation and start-up/shutdown activities.
