Job summary

SGS is seeking a Laboratory Technician in Saudi Arabia to develop and validate environmental control protocols and perform microbiological testing on samples, documenting results and initiating corrective actions. You will handle routine equipment calibration, sample collection, and reporting non-conformances.

The ideal candidate holds a Diploma/Degree in Microbiology or related field with 3–5 years of microbiology testing experience, and knowledge of EHS standards and Saudi regulations.

• Diploma/Degree in Microbiology or related field is required.
• 3–5 years of microbiological laboratory testing experience.
• Knowledge of EHS standards and Saudi Arabia regulations.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain validation protocols for environmental controls.
• Perform microbiological tests on component samples and identify contamination.
• Maintain records and test all activities in the laboratory.
• Monitor equipment calibration and PM planned activities.
• Collect samples from sites and report non-conformances to management.

Job Description

• Develop and maintain validation in all protocols for various environmental controls.
• Perform tests on component samples, identify any contamination and perform analysis for appropriate source for same and initiate corrective actions.
• Maintain accurate records and perform tests on all activities conducted in laboratory.
• Perform tests on all incoming ingredients and documents all records.
• Monitor all physiological and morphological characteristics and identify microorganisms.
• Develop and prepare documents for all protocols.
• Routine equipment maintenance and calibration, according to P.M plan.
• Sample storage and disposal.
• Report instances of non-conformances to the appropriate line management.
• Responsible for ensuring the equipment has been calibrated a scheduled.
• Intervene when an unsafe act or condition is observed.
• Sample collection from the site

Qualifications

• Diploma/ Degree in Microbiology, Environmental Science, Biotechnology, or related field.
• 3-5 years of experience in microbiological laboratory testing and analysis.
• Knowledge of EHS standards, occupational health, and environmental regulations in Saudi Arabia.
