Job summary

Soundlines Consultancy in Saudi Arabia is seeking a mobile equipment mechanic to perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of heavy vehicles and portable machinery across port sites.

You will diagnose engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, read technical manuals, and maintain accurate service records. The role requires 3-4 years' hands-on port/terminal experience, willingness to work shifts, strong English, and fitness for field-based duties.

Qualifications

• 3-4 years of relevant experience as a mobile equipment mechanical technician/heavy equipment mechanic/mobile equipment mechanic.
• PORT / TERMINAL industry experience is mandatory.
• Strong hands-on experience in the maintenance and repair of mobile/heavy equipment.
• Good knowledge of engine, transmission, hydraulic, and mechanical systems.
• Experience in troubleshooting mechanical and hydraulic faults.
• Ability to read and understand hydraulic drawings and technical manuals.
• Good English communication skills (verbal and written).
• Must be willing to work in roster/shift duties.
• Must be physically fit and strong to perform field-based maintenance activities.

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and servicing of mobile equipment and vehicles.
• Diagnose, repair, and service engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, and other mechanical systems.
• Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance according to planned maintenance schedules.
• Identify mechanical faults and technical problems and carry out appropriate repairs.
• Read and interpret hydraulic drawings, technical manuals, and equipment documentation.
• Identify engine, transmission, hydraulic, and other mechanical components.
• Use appropriate tools, testing equipment, and measuring instruments for maintenance and repair.
• Identify required spare parts and materials for maintenance activities.
• Maintain proper maintenance and repair records.
• Report technical issues and equipment conditions to the supervisor/manager.
• Ensure all maintenance work is performed safely and according to company and port regulations.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean and organized condition.
• Follow all HSE rules, safety procedures, work instructions, and port safety requirements.
• Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor/foreman/manager.
• Candidates may be deployed anywhere in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia according to company requirements.
