Job summary

AECOM is seeking a detail-oriented Mechanical Engineer - Design to join our Riyadh-based engineering team in Saudi Arabia. You will design, develop, and optimize mechanical components and systems, transforming concepts into functional designs while ensuring manufacturability and standards compliance.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, perform design analyses, create precise drawings using CAD, and support prototyping and testing to deliver robust solutions for complex projects.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of professional experience in mechanical design or product development.
• Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, CATIA, or equivalent.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical design principles and manufacturing processes.
• Ability to create detailed technical drawings and design documentation.
• Experience with material selection and understanding of material properties.
• Familiarity with ISO, ASME standards and quality requirements.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to manage multiple design projects simultaneously.

Responsibilities

• Participate in design reviews and provide technical recommendations for continuous improvement.
• Support prototyping and testing phases by providing design guidance and troubleshooting technical issues.
• Maintain organized project documentation and ensure all design files are properly archived and version-controlled.

Required Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and design simulation software
• Background in design optimization and performance analysis
• Experience in automotive, aerospace, industrial equipment, or related industries
• Knowledge of product lifecycle management (PLM) systems
• Experience with 3D modeling and advanced CAD techniques
• Familiarity with quality assurance and design verification processes
