AECOM in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, is seeking a detail-oriented Field Engineer - Mechanical to join our team. You will install, maintain, troubleshoot, and optimize mechanical systems at client sites, working independently and with teams to ensure safety, reliability, and compliance with industry standards.

The role requires proactive problem solving, strong communication, and the ability to travel to various sites as needed.

Qualifications

  • 10 years of experience in field engineering or similar.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems and equipment operation.
  • Proficient in troubleshooting and root-cause analysis.
  • Experience with maintenance, repair, and installation procedures.
  • Familiarity with technical documentation and CAD drawings.
  • Knowledge of safety standards and regulatory compliance.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Good communication and client interaction skills.
  • Willingness to travel to multiple job sites.

Responsibilities

Job Description

We're looking for a detail-oriented and analytical Field Engineer - Mechanical to join our team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. In this role, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and optimization of mechanical systems and equipment at client sites. You will work independently and collaboratively to ensure equipment operates efficiently, safely, and in compliance with industry standards. This position requires a proactive professional who can analyze complex mechanical problems and implement effective solutions in fast-paced field environments.



  • Install, commission, and test mechanical equipment and systems according to technical specifications and industry standards

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical failures using analytical methods and specialized tools

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical systems to minimize downtime and extend equipment life

  • Prepare detailed technical reports, maintenance logs, and documentation for all field activities

  • Conduct equipment inspections and analyze performance data to identify optimization opportunities

  • Collaborate with clients, project managers, and internal teams to coordinate field activities and resolve technical issues

  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols, environmental regulations, and company policies at all job sites

  • Provide technical guidance and support to junior technicians and field staff when required

  • Manage spare parts inventory and equipment tools efficiently

  • Travel to various job sites as needed to support project requirements


Qualifications


  • Proven 10 years of experience as a Field Engineer, Mechanical Technician, or similar role in a technical field environment

  • Strong knowledge of mechanical engineering principles, systems, and equipment operation

  • Proficiency in troubleshooting, diagnostics, and root cause analysis

  • Experience with mechanical maintenance, repair, and installation procedures

  • Familiarity with technical documentation, blueprints, and CAD software

  • Knowledge of safety standards, compliance requirements, and best practices in mechanical operations

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills for client and team interaction

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in field-based settings

  • Preferred: Experience with CMMS software, predictive maintenance techniques, or specific mechanical systems (pumps, compressors, turbines, HVAC)

  • Preferred: Experience in oil and gas, manufacturing, utilities, or related industries

  • Preferred: Leadership or mentoring experience with technical teams
