Job summary

Dewan Consultants in Saudi Arabia is seeking a Mechanic - Mobile Crane for its maintenance project. You will inspect cranes, diagnose hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical faults, and perform preventive and breakdown maintenance to ensure safe operation.

The role requires an ITI/ Diploma in Mechanical or related field and 13+ years of experience with heavy equipment, plus experience with fault finding and a valid driving license.

Qualifications

• ITI / Diploma in Mechanical, Automobile, Diesel, or Heavy Equipment Engineering preferred.
• Typically 13+ years of relevant experience in heavy equipment, mobile cranes, construction machinery, or similar equipment.
• Experience with hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical fault finding is highly desirable.
• Valid driving license may be required for field-service positions

Responsibilities

• Inspect mobile cranes and identify mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic faults.
• Carry out preventive and breakdown maintenance.
• Diagnose and repair hydraulic pumps, motors, valves, cylinders, hoses, and control systems.
• Service and repair diesel engines, transmissions, axles, brakes, steering, and other mechanical components.
• Inspect and maintain crane boom, winches, slew systems, wire ropes, and related components.
• Replace worn or damaged parts and carry out component overhauls.
• Use diagnostic equipment, gauges, multimeters, torque tools, and other workshop tools.
• Conduct functional tests after repairs and confirm equipment is safe for operation.
• Maintain accurate maintenance, breakdown, inspection, and service records.
• Read and interpret technical manuals, hydraulic/electrical schematics, and equipment drawings.
• Coordinate with crane operators and supervisors to identify problems and minimize equipment downtime.
• Follow manufacturer recommendations, site procedures, and applicable HSE requirements.
• Attend breakdowns at project sites when required.
