Job summary

Starlinks Global seeks a D365 F&O Functional Manager to lead our D365 Finance & Operations consulting team and own the evolving architecture. You will bridge Finance and Technology, translate business needs into functional designs, and mentor the delivery team while hands-on configuring and testing as needed.

Based on site in Khobar, Saudi Arabia, the role reports to the Executive Director – Technology and requires strong governance, project and release management, and experience with budgeting

Qualifications

• Up to 10 years hands-on D365 F&O experience as a Functional Specialist or Consultant.
• Proven leadership of a functional/technical team in a D365 environment.
• Strong knowledge of core D365 F&O Finance modules (GL, AP/AR, FA, Cash & Bank).
• Experience coordinating with internal teams and outsourced partners.
• Solid understanding of D365 F&O architecture, integrations, and config best practices.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Systems or related field.
• Microsoft D365 F&O certifications are a plus.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication across business and tech.
• Willingness to work on site in Khobar.
• D365 F&O experience is mandatory; other ERP experience not equivalent.
• Preferred: exposure to D365 HR/People capabilities.

Job description

Starlinks is looking for a D365 F&O Functional Manager to lead our D365 Finance & Operations consulting team and take ownership of the ongoing evolution of our D365 architecture. This role sits at the intersection of Finance and Technology; you will act as the primary bridge between the Finance function and both internal and outsourced technology resources, ensuring that business requirements are translated into sound functional design and that delivered solutions align with our long-term architecture roadmap. Alongside leading and mentoring the team, you will remain hands‑on, configuring, testing, and delivering functional enhancements yourself where needed. This role reports directly to the Executive Director – Technology and is based on site in Khobar, Saudi Arabia.

Main Job Responsibilities

Team Leadership

Lead and manage the D365 F&O delivery team, overseeing workload distribution, quality of delivery, mentoring and professional development.

Architecture Ownership

Own and continue to develop the functional and technical architecture of the D365 F&O platform in line with business growth and evolving Finance requirements.

Finance‑to‑Technology Bridge

Serve as the primary liaison between the Finance department and internal and outsourced technology resources, gathering requirements, validating solution designs and ensuring delivered work meets business and compliance needs.

Hands‑On Delivery

Personally configure and deliver basic‑to‑moderate functional enhancements within D365 F&O (e.g., workflows, security roles, financial dimensions, approval rules and module configurations) rather than relying solely on the team or outsourced resources.

Budget Implementation

Lead the implementation and ongoing management of budgeting and budget control functionality within D365 F&O, ensuring alignment with organizational financial planning and approval processes.

Process Improvement

Partner with Finance stakeholders to identify process improvement opportunities and translate them into D365 F&O functional requirements and roadmap items.

Governance and Quality Assurance

Review and validate functional specifications, test plans and change requests submitted by outsourced resources before implementation.

Project and Release Management

Coordinate testing, UAT and go‑live activities for enhancements and projects across Finance and Operations modules.

Reporting

Provide the Executive Director – Technology with regular updates on team performance, project status, architecture direction and risks related to the D365 F&O environment.

Qualifications & Experience

• Up to 10 years of hands‑on experience as a D365 F&O (Finance & Operations) Functional Specialist or Functional Consultant.
• Proven experience leading or managing a functional/technical team within a D365 environment.
• Strong functional knowledge of core D365 F&O Finance modules (General Ledger, Accounts Payable/Receivable, Fixed Assets, Cash and Bank Management).
• Demonstrated experience working with both internal teams and outsourced implementation partners or system integrators, managing delivery quality and accountability.
• Solid understanding of D365 F&O architecture, integrations and configuration best practices.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Systems or a related field.
• Microsoft D365 F&O certifications are a plus.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, comfortable operating between business (Finance) and technical (vendor) audiences.
• Willingness and ability to work on site in Khobar.
• D365 experience is mandatory; experience limited to other ERP platforms will not be considered equivalent.
• Preferred experience: Exposure to D365 HR/People‑related capabilities or integrated workforce systems (e.g., recruitment, performance management, workforce management, time & attendance).
• Prior involvement in D365 F&O implementation or upgrade projects, from requirements gathering through go‑live.
• Experience defining or improving governance processes for managing outsourced delivery partners.
