Job summary

CG Resourcing Ltd seeks an experienced Planning Manager to lead the planning team on a large-scale mixed-use entertainment venue project in Riyadh. You will oversee the development and maintenance of the baseline programme, ensure critical path execution, and drive timely project delivery.

The role requires 15+ years in planning on complex buildings, with strong Primavera P6 skills and a track record in project controls and recovery planning.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering is required.
• 15+ years of planning management experience on large-scale projects.
• Proven ability to lead planning teams and deliver complex schedules.
• Strong knowledge of project controls, risk and recovery planning.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the overall project baseline programme and detailed construction schedules.
• Lead the planning function, coordinating with project management, engineering, procurement, commercial and construction teams.
• Monitor progress against approved programmes, identify delays and critical path impacts.
• Prepare progress reports, dashboards, look-ahead programmes and presentations.
• Undertake programme analysis, delay assessments, mitigation strategies and recovery planning.
• Coordinate subcontractor and supplier programmes with the overall schedule.
• Monitor interfaces between procurement, design, engineering, construction and commissioning.
• Identify risks and propose solutions to protect milestones.
• Lead programme reviews and progress meetings with stakeholders and client/consultant.
• Ensure compliance with contractual programme requirements and reporting obligations.
• Provide strategic planning support to the Project Director and senior management.

Job description

Required to join an international contractor working on the build of a large scale mixed use entertainment venue in Riyadh.

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and managing the planning team to ensure successful delivery of the scheduling function, ensuring effective programme development, progress monitoring, critical path management and timely project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, manage and maintain the overall project baseline programme and detailed construction schedules.
• Lead the planning function, coordinating with project management, engineering, procurement, commercial and construction teams.
• Monitor project progress against approved programmes, identifying delays, critical path impacts and potential risks.
• Prepare detailed progress reports, dashboards, look-ahead programmes and management presentations.
• Undertake programme analysis, delay assessments, mitigation strategies and recovery planning.
• Coordinate subcontractor and supplier programmes, ensuring alignment with the overall project schedule.
• Monitor procurement, design, engineering, construction and commissioning interfaces.
• Identify programme risks and proactively recommend solutions to protect key milestones.
• Lead programme reviews and progress meetings with internal stakeholders and the client/consultant.
• Ensure compliance with contractual programme requirements and reporting obligations.
• Provide strategic planning advice and support to the Project Director and senior management team.

Applicants should meet the following criteria

• Degree qualified in Civil Engineering
• 15+ years experience
• Proven track record of working as a Planning Manager on large-scale, complex building or mixed-use developments.
• Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6, with strong knowledge of project controls and planning methodologies.
• Strong understanding of construction sequencing, procurement, design coordination and commissioning.
• Experience in critical path analysis, EOT assessments, delay analysis and programme recovery.
• Excellent communication, leadership and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, high-profile project environment.
• Commercially aware and technically strong planning professional who can combine detailed programme management with a strategic overview of project delivery.
