Job summary

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Senior Materials SME in Saudi Arabia to act as the technical authority for construction materials, quality compliance, testing, and material engineering across bridge and transportation projects.

The role requires 15+ years in materials engineering and 10+ years on major bridge projects, with GCC/Saudi experience highly desirable. Priority is on durability, compliance, and value‑engineering in a multinational team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Materials Engineering or related discipline.
• Master’s degree in Materials Engineering, Structural Engineering or Construction Technology is highly desirable.
• PE/CEng or equivalent certification preferred.
• Membership in ICE, ASCE, CIHT, ACI, or IStructE advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Act as the principal Materials Engineering authority for the Projects.
• Provide specialist technical advice to project management, engineering, construction, quality, and commercial teams.
• Establish project material compliance strategies and quality management requirements.
• Review and approve material specifications, material submittals, testing requirements, and quality procedures.
• Lead resolution of complex material-related technical issues throughout project execution.
• Ensure compliance with clients needs, MOTLS, Saudi standards, and international best practices.
• Review contractor material submittals and technical compliance documentation.
• Develop material approval workflows and compliance tracking processes.
• Support procurement teams in technical material evaluations.
