Job summary

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Mechanical SME to act as technical authority for all mechanical engineering aspects of major infrastructure projects in Saudi Arabia. You will lead design reviews, supervise construction, oversee testing and commissioning, and drive handover with a focus on reliability, maintainability, and safety.

The role requires seniority with 15+ years in mechanical engineering for large-scale infrastructure, with experience on bridge/transport projects and familiarity with GCC

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Infrastructure Engineering, or Engineering Management is preferred.
• Chartered Engineer (CEng) or Professional Engineer (PE) status is highly desirable.
• Membership with IMechE, ASME, or equivalent is preferred.
• Minimum 15 years of experience in mechanical engineering within major infrastructure projects.
• Minimum 10 years of experience supporting bridge, highway, transportation, or urban infrastructure developments.
• Previous experience on mega infrastructure projects valued above USD 250 million.
• GCC and Saudi Arabia project experience is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design reviews and technical assurance across projects.
• Coordinate with civil, structural, electrical, ITS, utility, traffic and architectural disciplines.
• Monitor construction activities and verify installation quality.
• Lead testing and commissioning of mechanical systems.
• Ensure compliance with project quality plans and ITPs.
• Support risk assessments and mitigation strategies.
• Develop operation and maintenance strategies and asset management plans.
