Job summary

Dar Al Riyadh Group seeks an experienced Surveying Engineer in Medina to support a high-rise hotel renovation. You will perform civil, structural, and façade surveys, establishing control points connected to the Madinah municipal network and verifying verticality and alignment of the tower.

The role requires 15+ years in land and building surveying, strong CAD/3D scanning skills, and Saudi Council of Engineers registration. Arabic language is a plus.

Qualifications

• Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Surveying Engineering, Geomatics, Civil Engineering, or related discipline.
• Saudi Council of Engineers registration in the appropriate professional category is mandatory.
• Minimum 15 years of land, engineering and building-surveying experience.
• Proven experience in high‑rise verticality control, structural retrofitting, and brownfield verification.

• Perform surveying activities for the civil, structural modification, and facade-remediation phase of a high-rise hotel renovation.
• Establish, verify, and protect primary and secondary survey control points connected to the approved Madinah municipal geodetic network.
• Conduct high-precision verticality, plumbness, alignment, elevation, and dimensional surveys of the high-rise tower.
• Survey existing structural elements before demolition, modification, strengthening, or off-site fabrication.
• Perform 3D laser scanning of existing brownfield conditions and identify dimensional deviations.
• Verify the contractor’s setting-out works for structural underpinning, slab openings, elevator shafts, facade brackets, and other structural modifications.
• Check coordinates, gridlines, levels, floor elevations, openings, anchor points, and construction tolerances.
• Establish and maintain structural deformation, settlement, deflection, and building-movement monitoring systems.
• Analyse monitoring results and immediately report any unusual movement or deviation.
• Review contractor survey calculations, setting-out records, reports, and as-built information.
• Coordinate survey requirements with structural, civil, architectural, facade, and contractor teams.
• Prepare survey reports, sketches, coordinate schedules, monitoring records, and as-built drawings.
• Ensure all surveying instruments are correctly maintained and supported by valid calibration certificates.
• Maintain accurate survey records in accordance with project quality and document-control procedures.
• Follow all applicable project safety, quality, and municipal requirements.
• Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Surveying Engineering, Geomatics, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Valid Saudi Council of Engineers registration in the appropriate professional category is mandatory.
• Minimum 15 years of land, engineering, and building-surveying experience.
• Proven experience in high-rise building verticality control, structural retrofitting, and brownfield verification.
• Strong experience in setting out structural modifications, elevator shafts, facade systems, and high-precision construction works.
• Practical experience in structural deformation, settlement, deflection, and movement monitoring.
• Advanced proficiency with Leica or Trimble total stations, digital levels, 3D laser scanners, and GPS/GNSS equipment.
• Strong knowledge of geodetic control networks, coordinate systems, survey adjustments, and construction tolerances.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and recognised surveying or data-processing software.
• Ability to interpret architectural, civil, structural, and facade drawings.
• Previous experience working with an engineering consultancy or construction supervision consultant.
• Knowledge of instrument calibration, survey-control protection, and accurate record management.
• Familiarity with Madinah Central Area survey benchmarks and municipal requirements is preferred.
• Good written and spoken English is required; Arabic is an advantage.
