Job summary

Fluor Corporation in Jubail, Saudi Arabia, is seeking an experienced Instrument Designer for contract work in oil & gas, petrochemical, and related facilities. The role requires designing instrumentation deliverables, reflecting redlines, and ensuring accuracy with SPF and SI/SPI tools.

You will work brownfield projects, review P&IDs and datasheets, perform MOC updates, and support field verification and as-built closeout, with a focus on safety and compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in relevant Engineering discipline.
• 8–15 years’ experience in Instrumentation Engineering/Design (oil & gas/petrochemical/industrial).
• KSA-based candidates highly considered.
• Instrument Designer experienced in brownfield work, MOC and as-built deliverables.
• Knowledgeable in MicroStation and Smart Instrumentation.
• P&ID representation with ability to resolve control system issues on P&ID.
• Proficiency in fire risk assessments, HAZOP/HAZID, and escape route planning.

Responsibilities

• Develop or reflect redline mark-ups for instrumentation deliverables using MicroStation or SI/SPI with minimal supervision.
• Check SPF documentation against contractor deliverables.
• Prepare/review instrument design deliverables.
• Review P&IDs, instrument index and datasheets, and control system architecture.
• Support brownfield project execution: field verification, redlines, MOC updates and as-built closeout.
• Coordinate with discipline leads, document controller and others to meet schedule and quality goals.
• Check work done by other Designers.
• Attend/site visits as needed for data verification and gap resolution.
