Job summary

JAL International is seeking an Instrumentation Engineer to join its Mechanical Services Shops, focusing on ensuring instrument accuracy, availability, and lifecycle integrity for machine and facility systems.

You will engineer, calibrate, troubleshoot, and improve sensors, transmitters, analyzers, control loops, protection devices, data acquisition systems, and interfaces with production and utility systems.

Qualifications

• Must hold a Bachelor's degree in Instrumentation, Control Systems, Electrical, Electronics, Automation or Mechatronics.
• Minimum 12 years’ industrial instrumentation experience.
• Minimum 7 years maintaining and commissioning instrumentation for manufacturing equipment and facility systems.
• Strong knowledge of industrial sensors, transmitters, analyzers, vibration and speed probes, control valves, data acquisition, signal standards, grounding, and calibration.

Facility Maintenance Specialists-Instrumentation Engineer-Engineer-Facility Maintenance

We are seeking an Instrumentation Engineer to join ourMechanical Services Shops. Mechanical Services Shops is responsible forproviding rotating and static equipment repair and fabrication of components.

Your primary role is to ensure the accuracy,availability, and lifecycle integrity of machine and facility instrumentation.You will engineer, maintain, calibrate, troubleshoot, and improve sensors,transmitters, analyzers, control loops, protection devices, data-acquisitionsystems, and their interfaces with production and utility systems.

• You will hold a Bachelor'sdegree in Instrumentation, Control Systems, Electrical, Electronics,Automation, or Mechatronics Engineering from a recognized and approved program.
• You will have at least 12years of industrial instrumentation experience, including a minimum of 7 yearsmaintaining and commissioning instrumentation for manufacturing equipment andfacility systems.
• Strong knowledge ofindustrial sensors, transmitters, analyzers, vibration and speed probes,control valves, data acquisition, signal standards, grounding, and calibrationis required.
• Experience with PLC/DCSI/O, HART or fieldbus devices, loop checking, alarm and trip systems,instrument networks, and OEM machine interfaces is necessary.
• Demonstrated ability todevelop calibration and preventive-maintenance strategies, troubleshootrecurring failures, and control instrument configuration is required.
• ISA CCST or CAP, vendorDCS/PLC, vibration instrumentation, and ISO/IEC 17025 metrology training arepreferred.

Primary Responsibilities

As the successful candidate you will be required toperform the following:

• InstrumentationEngineering: Specify and evaluate pressure, temperature, flow, level,vibration, speed, position, force, torque, gas, electrical, and analyticalinstruments for machine and facility applications.
• Calibration &Metrology: Develop calibration plans, ranges, tolerances, traceability,intervals, as-found/as-left records, uncertainty, and out-of-tolerance impactassessments for critical instruments.
• Troubleshooting &Maintenance: Diagnose sensor, wiring, grounding, impulse-line,signal-conditioning, I/O, loop, network, data-acquisition, alarm, andprotection‑system faults and lead permanent corrective action.
• Controls &Commissioning: Prepare datasheets, loop diagrams, hook-ups, cause-and-effectrequirements, calibration procedures, FAT/SAT plans, loop checks, andcommissioning records for new or modified systems.
• Asset & ChangeManagement: Maintain instrument indexes, spares, software/configurationbackups, calibration history, obsolescence plans, bypass and override controls,MOC records, and contractor quality.
