Job summary

ICİçtaş Construction seeks an experienced Laboratory Technician to support quality control and testing for road and infrastructure projects in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The role involves routine lab and field tests on soil, aggregates, concrete, and asphalt, with on-site sampling and meticulous data recording.

You will manage lab personnel, schedules, and reporting, ensure test accuracy, and maintain calibration of equipment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Diploma in Civil Engineering, Materials Science, or related technical field from an accredited institution.
• 20+ years of experience in quality control within construction/infrastructure projects.
• Minimum 10+ years of hands-on experience in construction site laboratories, including material testing and laboratory supervision.
• Good command of English (written and spoken).
• Strong understanding of construction materials testing, laboratory procedures, and quality standards.
• Ability to manage laboratory personnel, testing schedules, and reporting activities.
• Detail-oriented and disciplined approach to ensuring test accuracy, compliance, and documentation.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite for reporting and record-keeping purposes.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine laboratory and field tests on soil, aggregates, concrete, and asphalt in accordance with project specs and international standards (AASHTO, ASTM).
• Conduct systematic on-site sampling of raw materials and fresh concrete/asphalt for quality control.
• Accurately record, calculate, and document all test data in standardized formats; keep logs audit-ready.
• Clean, maintain, and assist in periodic calibration of laboratory testing equipment and sensitive instruments.
• Notify QA/QC Manager immediately of any test results outside specs or tolerances.
• Label, store, and track samples to ensure proper curing and timely testing.
• Coordinate with site engineers and batching plants to align testing with daily progress.
• Maintain a clean, safe laboratory environment following site protocols and handling of reagents/equipment.
• Assist in preparing daily/weekly quality reports to support project accountability and certificates.

• EquipmentMaintenance: Clean, maintain, and assist in the periodic calibration oflaboratory testing equipment and sensitive measuring instruments.
• Non-ConformityReporting: Immediately notify QA/QC Manager of any test results that falloutside the required specifications or tolerances.
• SampleManagement: Properly label, store, and track the shelf-life of samples(e.g., concrete cylinders/cubes) to ensure accurate curing and timelytesting.
• SiteCoordination: Coordinate with site engineers and batching plants to aligntesting schedules with the daily construction progress.
• Health& Safety: Maintain a clean and organized laboratory environment,strictly adhering to site safety protocols and the proper handling ofchemical reagents or heavy equipment.
• DocumentationSupport: Assist in preparing daily and weekly quality reports to supportproject accountability and compliance certificates.
