Job summary

WSP in the Middle East is seeking a qualified HSE Engineer to join the PMCM team on a prestigious project in Riyadh. The role focuses on monitoring HSE compliance across construction activities and promoting a strong safety culture.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field, 5–8 years of HSE experience on large projects, and familiarity with Saudi regulations and PMCM environments. Saudi nationals with SCE registration are preferred.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Minimum 5–8 years of HSE experience on large construction projects.
  • PMCM/Consultancy experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of Saudi HSE regulations and international safety standards.
  • Excellent communication, reporting, and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor site activities to ensure compliance with project HSE requirements and regulations.
  • Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and safety observations.
  • Identify unsafe conditions and ensure timely corrective actions.
  • Review contractors' HSE plans, risk assessments, method statements, and permits to work.
  • Investigate accidents and near misses with detailed reports and recommendations.
  • Participate in safety meetings, toolbox talks, and awareness campaigns.
  • Monitor environmental compliance and sustainability standards.
  • Ensure appropriate PPE usage and safe working practices.
  • Track and report HSE performance metrics weekly and monthly.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders for continuous safety improvement.
  • Support emergency preparedness and response activities.

Job Description

We are seeking a qualified and proactive HSE Engineer to join the PMCM team on a prestigious project in Riyadh. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring and ensuring compliance with project Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) requirements across construction activities, promoting a strong safety culture, and supporting the project's commitment to achieving the highest safety standards.

Responsibilities
  • Monitor site activities and ensure compliance with project HSE requirements, Saudi regulations, and international best practices.
  • Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and safety observations.
  • Identify unsafe conditions and behaviors and ensure timely corrective actions are implemented.
  • Review and monitor contractors' HSE plans, risk assessments, method statements, and permits to work.
  • Investigate accidents, incidents, near misses, and prepare detailed reports with recommendations.
  • Participate in safety meetings, toolbox talks, and awareness campaigns.
  • Monitor compliance with environmental requirements and sustainability standards.
  • Ensure appropriate PPE usage and safe working practices across all construction activities.
  • Track and report HSE performance metrics and prepare weekly/monthly reports.
  • Coordinate with project stakeholders to ensure continuous improvement of safety performance.
  • Support emergency preparedness and response activities.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 5–8 years of HSE experience on large construction, infrastructure, or building projects.
  • Previous experience working within a PMCM/Consultancy environment is highly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of Saudi HSE regulations, international safety standards, and construction safety practices.
  • Excellent communication, reporting, and stakeholder management skills.

Preference will be given to Saudi Nationals who are available for immediate mobilization and possess a valid SCE registration in Health & Safety.
