Job summary

University of New Haven - Riyadh invites applications for an Assistant Professor of Practice in History, beginning January 2027. The role combines teaching, service, and applied research, with the opportunity to shape a new history curriculum at NHU-Riyadh.

Teaching will be in English to undergraduates; candidates should have an MA in History (Ph.D. preferred) and at least two years of college-level history teaching, with strong communication and mentorship skills.

Qualifications

• MA in History (Ph.D. preferred) with focus on modern history is a plus.
• At least 2 years of college-level teaching of history; strong commitment to student learning and mentorship.
• Excellent communication in English; bilingual skills are a plus.
• Experience teaching in North American higher education context desirable.

Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate history courses in English, including Inventing our Modern World and Modern Societies and Civilizations: Being Human in Modern Times.
• Engage in service activities and student engagement within the department and campus.
• Mentor students and advise on career development and academic paths.
