Job summary

Amazon GES in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, seeks a seasoned AMET Head of Pre-Construction to lead design and construction readiness across large-scale fulfillment projects. The role oversees site selection, budget estimates, concept and detail design, and risk management to meet timelines and financial targets.

You will guide cross-functional teams, drive continuous improvement, and navigate local regulations while building a robust 3+ year pipeline to anticipate capacity needs.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of experience in construction management, pre-construction management, or related disciplines with progressive leadership responsibility.
• 10+ years leading development and pre-construction activities for logistics facilities, warehouses, industrial facilities, and/or critical infrastructure projects.
• Bachelor's degree or above in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management or an equivalent engineering science.
• Master's degree in Engineering, or related field.
• French, German, Polish, Arabic, Portuguese, Turkish, Chinese (Mandarin), Afrikaans and Zulu are considered preferred qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Lead pre-construction activities (site selection, site evaluation, budget estimate, concept design, schematic design, detail design) for complex projects with Design & Construction stakeholders.
• Identify process improvements, analyze design conflicts, evaluate resources, and mitigate risks during pre-construction.
• Assess complex situations requiring leadership visibility and sound judgment to navigate decisions.
• Lead cross-functional teams to deliver results and drive continuous improvement.
• Apply analytical skills to navigate local regulations and customer requirements.
• Create and own written communications to business partners and stakeholders on pre-construction matters.
• Troubleshoot issues independently and drive them to closure with minimal supervision.
• Travel up to 50% across AMET to support site evaluations and construction oversight.
