Job summary

Wesco is seeking a Representative - Outside Sales to identify new prospects and manage assigned customers, aiming to increase sales and margins. The role focuses on face‑to‑face selling and account management across technical, operations, supply chain, and executive teams.

The candidate will develop bids and presentations, deliver product demonstrations, and ensure customer satisfaction through ongoing communication and relationship management. Travel may be required.

Qualifications

• High School degree required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Two years of industry experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel 50–75%.
• Excellent sales and negotiation skills.
• Ability to develop and deliver presentations.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Strong Microsoft Office skills.
• Knowledge of advertising and sales promotion techniques (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Assess customer needs and suggest products, services and/or solutions and ensure a smooth sales process.
• Executes and expands assigned customer account plan(s) with management.
• Executess on billing margin initiatives through added services and supplier engagement.
• Prospects potential customers, including cold calling and referrals.
• Communicates with customers to identify product needs and recommends solutions.
• Demonstrates product functions and utility based on customer needs.
• Maintains customer relationships and resolves post‑sale issues.
• Keeps customers informed about new products and enhancements.
• Uses sales tools for planning and documenting opportunities.
• Grows product knowledge through Wesco and supplier training.
• Develops strong supplier relationships with regular joint sales calls.
• Provides quotations directly or with sales support.
