Job summary

Petro Rabigh is seeking a Plant Operator to support start-up/shutdown, respond to upset conditions, and conduct routine inspections of refinery facilities.

You will collect samples, perform chemical/physical tests, issue work permits, maintain logs, and coordinate with the Shift Supervisor and contractors to ensure safe, reliable operations. The role emphasizes discipline, housekeeping, and sharing best practices.

Qualifications

• High school with minimum 5 years of work experience or Diploma with minimum 4 years of related experience.
• Basic understanding of refinery or petrochemical equipment.
• Basic understanding of instruments and emergency shutdown systems.
• Clear understanding of refinery or petrochemical plant layout and operating process.

Responsibilities

• Start-up and shutdown of assigned plants per operating procedures.
• Respond to emergencies with field actions and communicate with the Console Operator/Shift Supervisor.
• Conduct regular plant inspections and report malfunctions; maintain logs of readings.
• Collect samples and perform required chemical and physical tests.
• Issue work permits per approved authorization level by the Section Head.
• Perform plant housekeeping to maintain a safe and clean environment.
• Provide technical guidance and share best practices to promote efficient operations.
