Job summary

Bechtel Corporation's Ar Rjum Project seeks a Mechanical Field Engineer to oversee construction engineering within the mechanical discipline, develop work plans, coordinate materials, perform inspections and ensure safety and quality from installation through turnover.

The role requires a Bachelor's in mechanical engineering and 15 years of progressive construction or mechanical experience, strong English communication, and ability to work in a multi-disciplinary, multicultural team on site in

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field and 15 years of progressive construction or mechanical engineering experience; or 20 years in the MENA region if no degree.
• Must be physically able to conduct field inspections and participate in project walk-downs with PPE.
• Strong English language communication and report writing skills.
• Must have excellent interpersonal skills and be a team player with a knowledge sharing approach.
• Ability to solve problems by thinking laterally and understand client needs for technical compliance.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with engineering on constructability and design issues relating to commodity installations and work sequencing.
• Provides field engineering support and assistance to superintendents, supporting personnel in meeting cost and time schedules, verifies materials, equipment, and quality, and assures results meet design requirements.
• Develop work plans, coordinate material take-offs and requisitions, perform and document inspections, report progress, and resolve conflicts in design and construction related to the installation and testing of mechanical commodities.
• Assure procedural compliance, material control, and complete and thorough documentation of inspections for completed work.
• Directs or performs preparation of quantity listings of field purchased material and equipment and initiates requisitions for field material purchases.
• Supports preparation of construction drawings and schedules, design of temporary construction facilities and ensures preparation of as built drawings and other job plans.
• Supports planning and delivery of construction materials and equipment, assuring that proper warehousing and storage exists to ensure environmental protection.
• Review's specifications, purchase orders, subcontracts, inspection reports, delivery schedules, instruction manuals, and technical data to assist and advise on site.
