Job summary

Rosewood AMAALA seeks an Explorer Team Leader to supervise the Explorer Agents and deliver safe, engaging Kids Club activities in line with Rosewood's A Sense of Place philosophy and Forbes LQA standards. Overview Basic Function

The Explorer Team Leader supports the Explorer Manager in the daily operation and supervision of the Explorers Kids Club and children s activity programming at Rosewood AMAALA. This role ensures that all activities are delivered safely, professionally and in line with Rosewood s A Sense of Place philosophy and Forbes LQA standards. The Explorer Team Leader acts as the on-the-floor leader guiding Explorer Agents, maintaining service quality, ensuring child safety compliance and delivering engaging age-appropriate experiences for children and families. The position requires strong leadership presence, excellent communication skills and hands-on involvement in daily activities and guest interactions.

Essential Duties

Team Leadership amp Supervision

• Support the Explorer Manager in supervising, guiding and motivating the Explorers team to deliver consistent high-quality service
• Act as the shift leader in the absence of the Explorer Manager ensuring smooth daily operations
• Assist with daily task allocation, break coverage and activity assignments based on business needs
• Provide on-the-job coaching and support to Explorer Agents ensuring adherence to SOPs, safety standards and service expectations
• Support onboarding and training of new Explorer team members

Operations amp Guest Experience

• Oversee the smooth execution of daily Kids Club operations during assigned shifts
• Ensure all check-in and check-out procedures are followed correctly including registration forms, parental consents, allergies, medical notes and authorized pick-ups
• Maintain a visible presence in the Kids Club actively engaging with children, parents and guardians
• Ensure children are supervised at all times and that appropriate ratios are maintained
• Address guest inquiries and concerns professionally and elevate complex issues to the Explorer Manager as required
• Ensure guests and children are addressed by name delivering personalized and attentive service

Programming amp Activities

• Lead and actively participate in age-appropriate activities such as arts amp crafts, games, storytelling, sports, themed sessions and educational workshops
• Support the implementation of culturally inspired programs reflecting AMAALA, the Red Sea environment, wellness, sustainability and local heritage
• Adapt activities based on age groups, group size, weather conditions and energy levels while maintaining safety and engagement
• Assist in organizing and delivering special events such as festive celebrations, movie nights, treasure hunts and family activities

Safety Compliance amp Child Protection

• Ensure strict adherence to all child-safety policies, hygiene standards and emergency procedures during assigned shifts
• Monitor team compliance with child-protection guidelines, appropriate conduct, confidentiality and professional boundaries
• Ensure accurate record-keeping of attendance, consent forms, allergies, incidents and accident reports
• Immediately report and document any incidents or safety concerns escalating to the Explorer Manager as required
• Conduct routine safety checks of activity areas, toys and equipment

Standards Quality amp Reporting

• Ensure departmental SOPs and procedures are followed consistently during daily operations
• Support the Explorer Manager in maintaining compliance with Rosewood brand standards and Forbes Travel Guide LQA requirements
• Conduct regular spot-checks of Kids Club areas to ensure cleanliness, organization and safety
• Assist with daily operational reporting including participation levels, feedback and incident logs
• Participate actively in departmental briefings and hotel meetings as required

Inventory amp Asset Control

• Monitor daily use and condition of toys, games, craft supplies and equipment
• Ensure all materials are clean, safe, age-appropriate and stored correctly
• Report shortages, damages or maintenance needs to the Explorer Manager
• Assist with basic inventory counts as assigned

Confidentiality

• While working for the company access to confidential information concerning guests, children, associates and company operations is required. All such information must remain strictly confidential and must not be disclosed to unauthorized parties.

Health amp Safety

• Comply with all Health and Safety regulations applicable to the workplace
• Ensure safe working practices are followed by all team members during assigned shifts
• Report hazards defects or incidents immediately according to hotel procedures
• Be fully conversant with o COSHH Regulations o Departmental Risk Assessments o Hotel Fire amp Bomb Procedures
