IOTA GROUP in Jubail, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, seeks an Engineering Technical Training Coordinator for a resident, full-time role on a major petrochemical expansion project. You will manage and coordinate technical and industrial skills training for operators, align with external trainers, and ensure course quality and documentation.

Engineering Technical Training Coordination Services

• Full-time
• Position: Engineering Technical Training Coordinator
• Industry: Refining & Petrochemicals
• Project: Major petrochemical expansion integrated with an existing world-class refinery operated by a joint venture between two international energy majors, on the east coast of Saudi Arabia. Scope includes a mixed-feed steam cracker (3.5 MT/y of chemicals), high-value petrochemical and HDPE units, plus utilities, storage, off-sites and buildings. CAPEX over USD 10 billion (plus USD 3 billion from downstream investors), 4.5-year execution, 6 EPCC packages, ~100 million manhours, 25,000 workers at peak. Owner’s PMT peaking at ~350 people.
• Status: Resident, 5 working days per week (Sunday–Thursday)
• Package: Accommodation, meals, local transport, mobile phone, medical insurance, mob/demob and 5 round-trip leave tickets per year provided

• Main function: manage and coordinate technical and industrial skills training for the operator’s manufacturing and operations staff, follow up on external training providers and work with internal trainers to ensure course quality.

  • Review annual training needs identified by supervisors during year-end appraisals
  • Coordinate external and internal trainers to deliver technical and industrial skills courses
  • Ensure all administrative and technical requirements for course delivery are met
  • Attend courses, collect trainee feedback and evaluate topics, methods, content and trainer performance
  • Link technical training with talent management and career development programmes
  • Contribute to training objectives, goals and plans with the training programmes development section
  • Keep up with training trends and recommend improvements
  • Develop and review course objectives, content and approach with relevant personnel
  • Prepare course specifications and take part in selecting external trainers
  • Ensure course notes and handouts are available to all participants
  • Maintain a training database: trainer evaluations, feedback, trainee results and materials
  • Develop training KPIs
  • Deliver specific technical and industrial training sessions when required
  • 10+ years of professional experience
  • Background in refining and petrochemical technologies
  • Technical knowledge of international and American codes (IEC, EN, NFPA, UL, IEEE, ANSI)
  • General knowledge of construction and commissioning (a plus)
  • Experience in the EPCC phase of large projects and in integrated / joint-venture organisations
  • Knowledge of safety and environmental aspects of major construction projects
  • Fluent English, written and spoken
  • Able to work in a multicultural, high-pressure project team and coordinate with contractors, auditors, experts and PMT packages
