Job summary

Fluor Corp is seeking a Mechanical Packages Engineer for Saudi Arabia, based in Al-Khobar or Jubail. The role requires extensive PDP/FEED package experience within petrochemical/oil & gas sectors and a strong background in mechanical package design and international codes.

Contract position with top-tier FEED responsibilities. The ideal candidate will lead technical delivery, mentor engineers, and ensure adherence to client specs and global standards on large-scale greenfield and brownfield

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
• 15 years’ experience in petrochemical, fertilizer, refining, oil or gas industrial environments.
• Ideally 10 years with a recognized international FEED/EPC contractor.
• Experience in complete project cycle from basic to commissioning.
• Proficiency with codes and standards (API, ASME, ISO, NFPA, IEC) and HCIS/RCER regulations.

Responsibilities

• In-depth experience in mechanical package design in PDP & FEED.
• Preparation of proposal for PDP and FEED.
• Train, coach and mentor team members.
• Review/update company standards related to mechanical packages.

Client is looking for a Mechanical Packages Engineer

Project Type: Oil & gas, Petrochemical, Chemicals plants

Location: Al-Khobar and Jubail, Saudi Arabia

Requirements/Qualification

• KSA‑based candidates highly considered
• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
• 15 years’ experience in petrochemical, fertilizer, refining, oil or gas industrial environments. Ideally, 10 years should be with a recognized international FEED/EPC contractor, performing mechanical package engineering to build green and brown field facilities in the petrochemical, or related chemical and Fertilizer industry.
• Experience in the following:
• Complete project cycle (basic engineering and detailed engineering including construction, pre-commissioning and commissioning support) of green/ brown field projects is ideal. (typical FEED project size of circa150.000 hrs.)
• Resolving operational / design issues
• Mechanical package design specifically related to PDP & FEED
• Pre-tender stage design
• Scheduling, manhour control, productivity and status reporting
• Secondment

• Up to date with the latest technical developments in the respective fields of expertise

• Supporting Procurement in meeting clients/vendors

Responsibilities

• In-depth experience in mechanical package design in PDP & FEED
• Preparation of proposal for PDP and FEED
• Train, coach and mentor
• Strong knowledge of Codes & Standards (API, ASME, ISO, NFPA, IEC etc.) and Regulations (HCIS, RCER etc.).
• Deep knowledge of relevant international codes i.e. API, ASME, ISO, PIP standards and Industrial practices and regulations related to stationery, machinery and mechanical packages.
• Capability to interpret Project standards, specifications, analyze exceptions when put up by vendors/contractors and to provide technical and engineering support to stationary issues.
• Shall possess knowledge to review/update and develop company's standards related to mechanical packages.
• Comprehensive and in-depth knowledge is essential for handling of all the activities related to development/review of mechanical package engineering deliverables during basic and detailed engineering phases of major projects.
• Experience in engineering software i.e. PV Elite and/or COMPRESS and able to review stress analysis (FEA) reports to check as per international standards.
