Job summary

Buchanan, a leading international law firm, seeks an Energy & Infrastructure Associate to join its Middle East projects practice. The role offers exposure to high-profile project development, energy, and infrastructure matters across the region within a collaborative international platform.

Ideal candidates are 2–4 PQE with strong drafting and due diligence skills, familiarity with EPC/PPP projects, and the ability to manage multiple workstreams under senior partners.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years' PQE gained at a recognised international law firm.
• Experience advising on project development, energy, infrastructure, utilities or PPP transactions.
• Strong drafting skills and ability to manage key documentation with limited supervision.
• Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage multiple workstreams.
• Strong communication skills and commercial awareness.

Responsibilities

• Advise on all aspects of project development and delivery across infrastructure and energy projects.
• Draft and negotiate key project documentation including concession agreements, EPC contracts, O&M agreements and interface agreements.
• Conduct legal risk analysis and due diligence for major project transactions.
• Support project execution and coordinate with technical, financial and advisory teams.
• Work alongside senior lawyers and partners on complex regional infrastructure projects.
• Gain exposure to project finance transactions through collaboration with finance teams.
