Job summary

ARK Projects, LLC seeks an experienced Electrical Engineer for our High Rise MEP project in Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. You will support all stages from design and load calculations to site execution, QA/QC, and commissioning, ensuring adherence to SBC and SEC standards.

The role requires 10+ years in MEP, strong coordination, and proficiency with electrical design software. English is essential; Arabic knowledge is a plus. On-site collaboration across multi-disciplinary teams is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in electrical engineering.
• 10+ years of experience in the MEP sector, preferably in KSA.
• Solid knowledge of SBC, SEC, and local/international codes.
• Experience in electrical design, load calculations, site supervision, QA/QC, and T&C of high-rise residential & mixed-use facilities.
• Proficiency in using electrical design software.
• Strong problem-solving and coordination skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and review electrical design drawings, single-line diagrams, and layouts per project requirements and SBC.
• Perform load calculations, short circuit, voltage drop, and cable sizing for system performance.
• Coordinate with design consultants and other disciplines to integrate electrical systems within MEP.
• Oversee site execution to ensure conformity with approved drawings and specs.
• Conduct QA/QC inspections of materials, workmanship, and installation.
• Prepare and review inspection test plans (ITPs) and method statements for electrical works.
• Supervise testing and commissioning of LV distribution, lighting, small power, earthing, and ELV systems.
• Liaise with regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with KSA regulations.
• Prepare progress reports, snag lists, and as-built documentation.
• Support HSE on site and ensure electrical safety practices.

Job description

ARK Projects is seeking a qualified and motivated Electrical Engineer with a strong background in the MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) field for our High Rise project in the Makkah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting all stages of electrical works — from design and load calculations to site execution, QA/QC, and final testing and commissioning — in compliance with local standards and best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Develop and review basic and detailed electrical design drawings, single-line diagrams, and layouts in line with project requirements and Saudi Building Codes.
2. Perform accurate electrical load calculations, short circuit analysis, voltage drop calculations, and cable sizing to ensure efficient system performance.
3. Coordinate with design consultants and other disciplines to integrate electrical systems within the overall MEP framework.
4. Oversee site execution activities, ensuring installation works are carried out as per approved drawings, specifications, and method statements.
5. Conduct regular QA/QC inspections, verifying materials, installation, and workmanship meet quality standards and project specifications.
6. Prepare and review inspection test plans (ITPs) and method statements related to electrical works.
7. Supervise and participate in testing and commissioning of electrical systems including LV distribution panels, lighting, small power, earthing, and ELV systems.
8. Liaise with local authorities and regulatory bodies to ensure full compliance with KSA regulations.
9. Prepare progress reports, snag lists, and as-built documentation.
10. Support HSE compliance on site, ensuring electrical safety practices are implemented effectively.

Key Requirements:

1. Bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering from a recognized university.
2. 10+ years of relevant experience in the MEP sector, preferably within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
3. Solid knowledge of Saudi Building Code (SBC), SEC standards, and other applicable local and international codes.
4. Proven experience in electrical design, load calculations, site supervision, QA/QC, and T&C of High-Rise Building (Residential) & Mixed-Use Facilities.
5. Proficiency in using electrical design software
6. Strong problem-solving and coordination skills.
7. Good communication skills in English; Arabic is an advantage.
8. Ability to work collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team environment.
