Job summary

Saudconsult is seeking an experienced Electrical CAD Draftsman to convert electrical designs into accurate AutoCAD drawings for buildings and projects in Riyadh. You will prepare lighting, power layouts, distribution board drawings, and single-line diagrams while coordinating with architectural, structural, and mechanical teams.

You will ensure drawings comply with SBC 401 and local Saudi standards, produce as-built updates, and support project teams with precise quantity extracts from drawings.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Engineering Drafting, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• 2–4 years of electrical drafting experience.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Ability to read electrical and architectural drawings.
• Knowledge of distribution boards and cable routing.
• High accuracy and ability to meet deadlines.
• Ability to work in a team and manage multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Prepare electrical and shop drawings for buildings and projects using AutoCAD.
• Draft lighting and power layouts and distribution board drawings.
• Prepare single line diagrams and cable tray and conduit routes.
• Prepare fire alarm and low-current system drawings.
• Coordinate electrical drawings with architectural, structural, and mechanical drawings and identify clashes.
• Convert hand sketches and preliminary designs into accurate digital drawings.
• Prepare As-Built drawings based on site data.
• Revise and update drawings based on feedback from engineers, consultants, and clients.
• Extract preliminary cable and fixture quantities as required.
• Comply with approved codes and standards such as SBC 401 and Saudi Electricity Company requirements.
• Organize and archive drawings and files per the document control system

Job description

We are seeking an experienced Electrical CAD Draftsman to join our team and prepare accurate electrical and shop drawings for buildings and construction projects, including lighting and power layouts, distribution boards, and low-current systems, using AutoCAD.

Role Overview

As an Electrical CAD Draftsman, you will work closely with electrical engineers to convert designs and preliminary sketches into accurate drawings that comply with approved specifications and codes. You will prepare electrical layouts and single line diagrams, coordinate with architectural, structural, and mechanical drawings, issue as-built drawings after execution, and update drawings based on review comments from engineers, consultants, and clients.

Requirements

• Diploma in Engineering Drafting, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent with proven practical experience.
• 2 to 4 years of experience in electrical drafting.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Ability to read electrical and architectural drawings and technical specifications.
• Knowledge of electrical symbols, distribution boards, and cable routing.
• High accuracy and ability to meet deadlines.
• Ability to work in a team and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
