About the Job

Based at the Mandarin Oriental Al Faisaliah Riyadh within the Engineering Department, the Director of Engineering is responsible for the overall engineering operation and facility management in compliance with all relevant local codes and regulations, as well as Policy & Procedures and the Safe, Sound & Sustainable manual.

As Director of Engineering, you will be responsible for the following duties:

• Understand and disseminate and communicate all corporate, hotel and human resources policies to colleagues.
• Ensure all business activities and decisions comply with general law, rules, regulations and other requirements.
• Maintain zero tolerance on any form of harassment or discrimination.
• Act as a hotel ambassador at all times.
• Establish engineering guidelines, policies & procedures and standard operating procedures to maintain quality and reliability.
• Establish a monthly reporting system to monitor key performance indicators, guest room maintenance, energy consumption, operational and energy expenses, project updates, LQE activities and other specific tasks.
• Prepare annual and five‑year capital plans.
• Manage all CAPEX and POMEC projects in accordance with group policies and procedures.

As Director of Engineering, we expect from you:

• Recruit, select and develop qualified technicians and engineers.
• Oversee telecommunication system upgrades or enhancements.
• Assist in annual maintenance of the contingency systems that support IT & T equipment and systems.
• Monitor and forecast POMEC expenses and develop annual POMEC budgets.
• Prepare a summary and analysis of the annual POMEC budget.
• Ensure engineering colleagues’ performance is monitored and foster their career development.
• Monitor and lead labour cost management.
