Job summary

Saudi Air Navigation Services is seeking a skilled Infrastructure Engineer to deliver and operate cloud and on‑premise platforms with hands‑on provisioning, IaC, automation and observability. You will resolve complex incidents, reduce manual toil and maintain deployment runbooks and knowledge bases to support resilient operations.

The role emphasizes automation, secure configurations, and scalable infrastructure with ongoing collaboration across applications and vendor teams.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience in a related field or equivalent.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology (IT), or equivalent.
• Preferred certifications: Cisco CCNP VMware VCP-DCV for virtualization, ITIL, and CompTIA Network+/Security+/A+, Fortinet NSE.

Responsibilities

• Provision and maintain cloud and on-prem infrastructure using IaC templates and patterns.
• Deploy environments for dev/test/stage/prod with repeatable pipelines and parity.
• Develop and maintain IaC modules, automation scripts and deployment pipelines.
• Create automated operational playbooks for remediation, patching, self-heal.
• Implement observability with metrics, logs, traces, dashboards and alerts.
• Perform performance tuning and capacity forecasting, right-sizing efforts.
• Apply platform hardening, patching, backup and DR procedures.
• Act as escalation point for complex incidents and RCA closure.
• Maintain runbooks and knowledge base; contribute to onboarding material.

Role Purpose

Deliver and operate SANS’s cloud and infrastructure platforms through hands-on provisioning, IaC, automation and observability, ensuring environments are stable, secure, and reproducible , Enable reliable application delivery and resilient operations by resolving complex incidents, reducing manual effort via automation, and maintaining operational knowledge for the SANS infrastructure team.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES & ACTIVITIES

Infrastructure & Cloud Provisioning and Deployment

• Implement and maintain cloud and on-prem infrastructure using approved patterns and infrastructure-as-code (IaC) templates; provision resources, networks, storage and platform services.
• Deploy and validate environments for dev/test/stage/prod with repeatable pipelines, ensuring environment parity and reproducible builds.

Automation, Configuration & Infrastructure as Code

• Develop and maintain IaC modules, automation scripts and deployment pipelines to reduce manual steps, enable repeatability and support self-service provisioning.
• Create and maintain automated operational playbooks (config drift remediation, automated patching, self-heal) to lower toil and speed recovery.

Monitoring, Observability & Performance Tuning

• Implement observability (metrics, logs, traces), build dashboards and alerts, and tune monitoring thresholds to enable proactive detection and rapid troubleshooting.
• Perform performance analysis and tuning (compute, storage, network), contribute to capacity forecasts and support right-sizing efforts.

Security, Patch & Resilience Operations

• Apply platform hardening, patching, backup and recovery procedures; enforce configuration baselines and remediation actions to meet security requirements.
• Support DR exercises and backup verification; implement resilient deployment patterns (multi-AZ, failover)

Incident Response, Troubleshooting & L2/L3 Support

• Act as escalation point for complex incidents: triage, diagnose root cause, implement fixes or workarounds and follow through to closure with documented RCA.
• Collaborate with application teams, integration owners and third-party vendors to resolve cross-stack faults and reduce recurrence.

Reporting & Knowledge Sharing

• Provide periodic operational updates to Section Head on deployments, incidents, risks and improvements.
• Maintain runbooks, configuration baselines, deployment playbooks and change records; contribute to the team knowledge base and onboarding material.

Policies, Processes and Procedures

• Conduct day-to-day activities while ensuring compliance to policies and procedures
• Contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of systems, processes taking into account leading practices, changes in business environment, cost reduction and productivity improvement.
