Job summary

Saudi Air Navigation Services seeks a Lead Enterprise Architect to define and oversee architecture strategy, roadmaps, and standards that align IT with business transformation. You will guide solution architecture across domains, ensuring security, resilience, and ongoing governance.

You will translate business priorities into IT capabilities, lead a growing EA team, and report on roadmap alignment and risks while embedding best practices and emerging technologies into processes.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 years of experience in a related field or equivalent.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent.
• Preferable certifications: TOGAF, ITIL 4, COBIT to ensure governance and alignment across enterprise systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead the definition and oversight of the enterprise architecture strategy, roadmaps, and standards.
• Establish architecture standards, patterns, and reference models across domains and ensure project alignment with principles.
• Provide guidance on solution architectures, security, and resilience for design and delivery phases.

Role Purpose

Lead the definition and oversight of SANS enterprise architecture strategies, roadmaps, and standards to align IT capabilities with business transformation priorities, ensure that solution designs, technology adoption, and IT investments are integrated, scalable, and sustainable, directly supporting the transformation initiatives in delivering enterprise-wide digital objectives.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES & ACTIVITIES

Enterprise Architecture Strategy & Roadmap

• Define and maintain the enterprise architecture vision, principles, and roadmaps to align IT capabilities with business strategy.
• Ensure that the architecture function supports innovation, scalability, and long term sustainability of digital transformation.

Architecture Standards & Governance Enablement

• Establish and promote architecture standards, patterns, and reference models across technology, applications, integration, infrastructure, and data domains.
• Ensure alignment of projects and solutions with enterprise architecture principles, providing oversight during design and delivery phases.
• Collaborate with governance teams to support compliance with defined architecture guidelines.

Solution & Project Architecture Oversight

• Provide guidance and direction to project teams during solution design, ensuring coherence with enterprise-wide roadmaps and standards.
• Review and approve solution architectures to ensure integration, security, and operational resilience.
• Act as an escalation point for architecture-related decisions and conflicts.

Business & IT architecture alignment

• Ensure technology roadmaps reflect business priorities.
• Translate business strategies into IT capabilities and identify opportunities for digital enablement and innovation.
• Foster collaboration to ensure architectural outcomes support measurable business value.

Reporting & Capability Development

• Report regularly to the Digital Transformation Manager on architecture roadmap, alignment, and risks.
• Build and lead the enterprise architecture team, enhancing skills across domains such as applications, data, infrastructure, and integration.
• Maintain knowledge repositories by embedding lessons learned, best practices, and emerging technologies into architecture processes.

Policies, Processes and Procedures

• Support in monitoring day-to-day activities to ensure compliance with stipulated policies and procedures
• Contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of systems and processes taking into account leading practices, changes in business environment, cost reduction and productivity improvement

People Management

• Actively participate in on-the-job training, mentoring and coaching of subordinates
• Provide clear direction, prioritize tasks, assign and delegate responsibility and monitor the workflow
• Promote a high-performance working environment embracing SANS’s values

QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS

Knowledge and Experience

• Minimum 6 years of experience in a related field or equivalent is required.

Education and Certifications

• A bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent is required.
• Preferable certifications: TOGAF, enterprise architecture certifications such as NORA, ITIL 4, and cloud architecture , enterprise architecture modeling, cloud based, SOA/integration, and COBIT to ensure governance, compliance, and architecture alignment across enterprise systems.
