Job summary

TRACTEBEL ENGINEERING S.A DUBAI BRANCH seeks a Project Design Coordinator to lead design review coordination for large thermal power projects, acting as the focal point among the Client, Review Consultant, EPC Contractor and other stakeholders.

Based in client offices in Jeddah, Riyadh, or KSA, the role requires extensive experience in engineering deliverables, scheduling, risk management and change control, with strong English communication and proficiency in project management tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, preferably approved by the Saudi Council of Engineers.
• Minimum of fifteen (15) years of relevant experience in large Thermal Power Projects, coordinating deliverables.
• Familiarity with EPC projects, site coordination and stakeholder management.

Responsibilities

• Act as the focal point between Client, Design Review Consultant, EPC Contractor and other stakeholders.
• Track submission of design deliverables per MDL and approval process, including designs, drawings, specifications and reports.
• Organize regular meetings to review deliverables and prepare agendas, notes and actions.
• Develop and maintain engineering deliverable schedules and risk registers; monitor progress and mitigate delays.
• Prepare progress reports for stakeholders and senior management; support change management.

The Project Design Coordinator

Key Responsibilities

The Project Design Coordinator to work on behalf of the Client and to be based in Client s offices in Jeddah Riyadh KSA and handle thermal power generation project s He shall be responsible for the following key activities To act as the focal point between the Client Design Review Consultant EPC Contractor and their design Consultant regulatory bodies and other project stakeholdersTrack the submission of design deliverables as per the Master Document List MDL review coordination approval process including designs drawings specifications and reports in accordance with the project s quality standards and regulatory requirementsEnsure timely dissemination of deliverables to relevant parties keeping all stakeholders informed about the status and schedule of submissionsDevelop and maintain a detailed schedule for engineering deliverable reviews approvals and submissions monitor progress and flag potential delays working with stakeholders to mitigate schedule risksOrganize regular meetings weekly bi-weekly monthly with the Consultant EPC Contractor and other stakeholders to review the status of engineering deliverables and address any issues or concerns prepare and distribute meeting agenda meeting notes action items and follow-up actions produce weekly and monthly progress reports for submission to the stakeholders and to the senior management teamDevelop and maintain effective communication channels to manage information flow among all project participantsMaintain comprehensive records of all submissions approvals revisions and correspondences related to engineering deliverables Identify potential risks related to the review and approval of engineering deliverables including delays quality issues and compliance concerns and work with the project team to develop and implement risk mitigation strategiesMaintain a risk register and track the resolution of issues related to engineering deliverables Assist in managing change management including managing changes to engineering deliverables ensuring that any changes are properly documented communicated and approved according to the project s change management procedures track and report the impact of changes on project scope schedule and budget Prepare regular progress reports on the status of engineering deliverables highlighting key achievements issues and upcoming milestones strong Experience and Skill set strong

Experience and Skill Set

The candidate shall have the required experience and skillset to lead and monitor the design and review coordination involving multidiscipline works of thermal power plants The candidate shall have the knowledge of design and engineering of the power plant equipment and systems to monitor the design progress of the contractor review works by the consultant site coordination to coordinate between the site and the design team etc The candidate shall have thorough knowledge of relevant International Standards and proficient in relevant Design software The candidate shall be well versed in MS office applications and familiar with MIS The candidate should have good English communication skill and leadership qualities Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, preferably approved by the Saudi Council of Engineers.Have a minimum of Fifteen (15) years of relevant experience in large Thermal Power Projects including proven experience in coordinating engineering deliverables and managing stakeholder interactionsFamiliarity with combined cycle power plants, EPC projects, or infrastructure projectsStrong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple deadlinesExcellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with various stakeholders.Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera) and document management systems (e.g., SharePoint, Aconex, ThinkProject, etc.,) is preferred.Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
