Job summary

Parsons is seeking a highly experienced Design Manager to lead and coordinate multi-disciplinary design across projects in the Planning & Design Management stream. You will report to the Director of Infrastructure Planning & Design and drive design delivery, governance, and collaboration with consultants and internal teams.

The role requires hands-on leadership, detailed coordination, and the ability to manage interfaces among disciplines to ensure compliant, high-quality outputs and on-time

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related discipline.
• 10 years' experience in design coordination or design management roles.
• Good understanding of design development stages and coordination requirements.
• Strong organizational, communication and stakeholder coordination skills.

Responsibilities

• Support the Senior Management and Senior Design Manager in day-to-day design delivery coordination.
• Coordinate design consultants and technical teams to ensure integrated outputs.
• Review submissions for quality, completeness, and alignment with requirements before approvals.
• Resolve design clashes, technical queries, constructability issues, and cross-disciplinary matters.
• Maintain design trackers, logs, registers, approvals, and technical records.
• Apply standardized templates, tools, methodologies, and reporting procedures.
• Coordinate interfaces between disciplines, assets, stakeholders, and delivery teams.
• Identify, track, and mitigate design-related risks, assumptions, constraints, and dependencies.
• Liaise with internal stakeholders to support timely reviews, approvals, and decisions.

Job Description:

Parsons are looking for a highly experienced Design Manager to join their team!

Within the Planning & Design Management stream and reporting to the Director of Infrastructure Planning & Design, the Design Manager will manage & coordinate the delivery of multi-disciplinary design across assigned projects, packages or asset scopes in accordance with brief, standards, budgets and delivery programs.

The role requires a highly hands-on approach to design management, coordination, and technical leadership. You will be expected to actively manage and drive delivery across multiple workstreams.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Support the Senior Management and Senior Design Manager in the day-to-day management, coordination, and assurance of design delivery across all project stages.
• Coordinate design consultants and technical teams to ensure compliant, integrated, and high-quality design outputs.
• Review and monitor design submissions for quality, completeness, coordination, and alignment with project requirements prior to approvals.
• Support the resolution of design clashes, technical queries, constructability issues, and cross-disciplinary coordination matters.
• Maintain design trackers, action logs, registers, approval workflows, and technical records to support effective governance and reporting.
• Apply standardized design management templates, tools, methodologies, and reporting procedures across assigned projects and monitor design progress against agreed milestones, schedules, and stage gate deliverables.
• Coordinate interfaces between disciplines, infrastructure systems, assets, consultants, stakeholders, and delivery teams to ensure integrated outcomes.
• Identify, track, and support mitigation of design-related risks, assumptions, constraints, and dependencies.
• Liaise with internal stakeholders, consultants, support functions, and project teams to support timely reviews, approvals, and decision-making.
• Ensure accurate, timely, and consistent communication of design information across all stakeholders.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, or related discipline.
• 10 years' experience in design coordination or design management roles.
• Good understanding of design development stages and coordination requirements.
• Strong organizational, communication and stakeholder coordination skills
