Job summary

PeopleStrong seeks a Design Lead - Instrumentation to oversee engineering activities for solar PV projects in Riyadh. You will guide a team of design engineers and ensure drawings, bills of quantities, and vendor deliverables meet project timelines and quality standards.

Candidate should have BE Instrumentation Engineering or equivalent, with 10–15 years of relevant design experience in solar or power distribution, and strong PLC/SCADA and inter‑disciplinary coordination skills.

Qualifications

• BE Electronics Instrumentation or ICE, or M.Tech in related field.
• 10–15 years with design experience in PV power plants / power projects.
• Knowledge of instrumentation and control engineering concepts.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engineering drawings and documents on time.
• Ensure deliveries align with project schedule and budgets.

Job Description

As Design Lead (Instrumentation), the person shall be capable of reviewing & executing Engineering Activities of instrumentation /Automation of Solar PV Power Plants. He shall facilitate the modellers in development of BIM 3D Model for PV Solar Power plants. In addition, she / he has to coordinate with other departments including Inter-departmental checks covering Civil/ Structural, Electrical, MEP and others. The Design Lead (Instrumentation) shall be required to provide support for the engineering activities covering the full cycle of works from pre-bid engineering to support during commissioning and warranty periods and to extend support to site team. She / He shall lead a team of Design Engineers and Draughts Persons to manage the Engineering activities within budget, deliver on time and maintaining a high quality of engineering.

Key Responsibilities :

• Timely Delivery of Engineering Drawings & Documents
• Ensure deliveries are aligned to Project Schedule
• Review drawings by Design Engineers & Draughts Persons. Checking of design & sizing calculations of engineering electrical equipment and obtaining approvals from the client
• Review of Vendor deliverables pertaining to Engineering
• Capable of Multitasking and deliver multiple things on time

Software Skills Required:

Technical Expertise

• The Design Lead (Instrumentation) is required to have an overall knowledge of equipment
• layouts and necessary calculations. Expertise in PLC/SCADA system, Met station system,
• cable selections, Telecom, CCTV systems, ACS (Access Control system), System Integration,
• third party equipment integration system. Well versed in all the protocols of communication
• systems, Tracker control system. He / She is also required to have knowledge in Electrical and
• Mechanical Equipment.
