Job summary

ACWA Power is seeking experienced CCR Operators for Saudi Arabia across power generation and water desalination plants. You will monitor and control plant operations through DCS/SCADA systems, oversee RO desalination and CCGT processes, and ensure safe, reliable performance.

You will coordinate with field teams, maintain logs, and uphold HSE standards while supporting start-ups, shutdowns, and emergency procedures.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years of experience in control room operations within power generation or water desalination plants.
• Strong knowledge of DCS, SCADA and PLC control systems and associated operating procedures.
• Experience with RO desalination processes or CCGT power plant operations.
• Ability to monitor parameters, interpret alarms, analyze trends and troubleshoot issues.
• Understanding of start-up, shutdown, emergency response and permit-to-work procedures.
• HSE standards awareness and safe operating practices.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and control plant equipment and processes through DCS/SCADA systems per procedures and safety standards.
• Oversee RO desalination systems and CCGT systems including critical subsystems and plant chemistry monitoring.
• Track operating parameters and trends, identify abnormalities, and take corrective actions.
• Execute started-up and shutdowns, equipment changes, and emergency procedures as approved.
• Coordinate with field operators and Shift Supervisors on permits, isolation, and safe return to service.
• Maintain shift logs, operation records, and handover documentation.
• Collaborate with laboratory and field teams on water quality and plant conditions.
• Ensure compliance with HSE requirements and plant safety standards.

CCR Operator Central Control Room KSA Technical Recruitment Campaign 2026 Location Saudi Arabia Function Operations RO Desalination CCGT Power Generation

ACWA Operations is seeking experienced CCR Operators for upcoming opportunities across power generation and water desalination plants in Saudi Arabia. The role is responsible for monitoring and controlling plant operations through DCS SCADA systems, coordinating field activities, responding to operational deviations, and ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient plant performance.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Monitor and control plant equipment and processes through DCS SCADA systems in accordance with approved operating procedures and safety standards.
• Oversee RO desalination systems including pretreatment, high-pressure pumps, membrane trains, energy recovery devices, and water quality, or CCGT systems including gas turbines, HRSGs, steam turbines, generators and balance-of-plant equipment.
• Monitor operating parameters, alarms, trends and equipment conditions, identifying abnormalities and taking authorized corrective actions.
• Execute approved plant start-up, shutdown, equipment changeover, and emergency operating procedures.
• Coordinate with field operators and Shift Supervisors on equipment isolation, permit-to-work requirements, maintenance activities and safe return to service.
• Maintain accurate shift logs, operational records, equipment defect reports and shift handover documentation.
• Coordinate with laboratory and field teams to monitor plant chemistry, water quality and operational conditions.
• Ensure compliance with HSE requirements, emergency response procedures and operational safety standards.

Job Specifications

Minimum Education

• Technical Diploma in Engineering
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering is preferred.

Minimum Experience

• Minimum 4 years of experience in control room operations within power generation or water desalination plants.

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of DCS, SCADA, PLC and control room operating systems.
• Experience in RO desalination processes or CCGT power plant operations.
• Ability to monitor operating parameters, interpret alarms, analyze trends and troubleshoot operational issues.
• Knowledge of plant start-up, shutdown, emergency response and permit-to-work procedures.

Required Certifications

• Awareness of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 is preferred.
