Job summary

ACWA Operations seeks experienced CCR Operators for Saudi Arabia across power generation and water desalination sites. You will monitor and control processes via DCS/SCADA, coordinate with field teams, and ensure safe, reliable operations.

The role requires at least 4 years in control room operations, with RO desalination or CCGT plant experience. You will handle starting up/shutting down, alarms, trends, and permit-to-work, in a shift-based plant environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years of control room operations experience in power generation or desalination plants.
• Proficient in DCS/SCADA, PLC, and related control systems.
• Ability to monitor parameters, interpret alarms, and troubleshoot issues.
• Experience with plant start-up, shutdown, and emergency procedures.
• Familiar with permit-to-work and isolation procedures.
• Good knowledge of HSE standards and safe operating practices.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and control plant equipment via DCS/SCADA following SOPs.
• Coordinate with field operators during maintenance and handovers.
• Record shift logs, equipment defects, and handover docs.
• Monitor water quality and plant chemistry in collaboration with labs.
• Ensure compliance with safety and emergency procedures.
• Respond to deviations and implement corrective actions.

Job Summary

ACWA Operations is seeking experienced CCR Operators for upcoming opportunities across power generation and water desalination plants in Saudi Arabia. The role is responsible for monitoring and controlling plant operations through DCS/SCADA systems, coordinating field activities, responding to operational deviations, and ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient plant performance.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Monitor and control plant equipment and processes through DCS/SCADA systems in accordance with approved operating procedures and safety standards.
• Oversee RO desalination systems, including pretreatment, high-pressure pumps, membrane trains, energy recovery devices, and water quality, or CCGT systems, including gas turbines, HRSGs, steam turbines, generators, and balance-of-plant equipment.
• Monitor operating parameters, alarms, trends, and equipment conditions, identifying abnormalities and taking authorized corrective actions.
• Execute approved plant start-up, shutdown, equipment changeover, and emergency operating procedures.
• Coordinate with field operators and Shift Supervisors on equipment isolation, permit-to-work requirements, maintenance activities, and safe return to service.
• Maintain accurate shift logs, operational records, equipment defect reports, and shift handover documentation.
• Coordinate with laboratory and field teams to monitor plant chemistry, water quality, and operational conditions.
• Ensure compliance with HSE requirements, emergency response procedures, and operational safety standards.

Job Specifications

Minimum Education

• Technical Diploma in Engineering.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering is preferred.

Minimum Experience

• Minimum 4 years of experience in control room operations within power generation or water desalination plants.

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of DCS, SCADA, PLC, and control room operating systems.
• Experience in RO desalination processes or CCGT power plant operations.
• Ability to monitor operating parameters, interpret alarms, analyze trends, and troubleshoot operational issues.
• Knowledge of plant start-up, shutdown, emergency response, and permit-to-work procedures.
• Understanding of HSE standards, equipment isolation, and safe operating practices.
• Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, communication, and teamwork skills.

Required Certifications

• Awareness of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 4501 is preferred.

Work Conditions

• Plant-based position in Saudi Arabia.
• Shift-based operations, including support during plant emergencies, start-ups, and shutdowns.
