Job summary

Acwa China is seeking a CCR Operator for Qurayyah to monitor and control unit parameters and coordinate with fellow operators on all operational activities.

You will follow safety rules, understand plant P&IDs and SOPs, and act swiftly during abnormal conditions while coordinating with supervision and maintenance teams.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Engineering is required.
• Bachelor of Engineering is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Comply with safety rules and regulations.
• Be familiar with fire equipment in the area.
• Familiar with plant P&IDs, SOPs, work instructions and emergency procedures.
• Monitor unit parameters and record periodic readings.
• Summarize shift activities in the log book.
• Coordinate with Shift Charge Engineer and other Operators.
• Be alert and take quick actions during abnormal operations.
• Ensure Lock Out/Tag Out during maintenance.
• Normalize equipment after cancellation as instructed.
• Inspect unit and auxiliaries to keep parameters within limits.
• Report abnormalities to Shift Supervisor/SCE.
• Perform periodic protection tests and maintain records.
• Perform equipment changeovers as per schedules.
• Raise work requests for faulty equipment and follow up.
• Assist in training new operators.
• Report near misses and implement risk controls.
• Report deviations in QHSE management.
• Ensure proper waste disposal.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Title: CCR Operator Location: Qurayyah

Reporting To: Shift Supervisor / Shift Charge Engineer

Job Summary

Monitor and control of the Unit/plant Operation parameters and coordinate with the other Operators in regard to all related activities that affect operation.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Comply with safety rules and regulations.
• Be familiar with the fire equipment in his area.
• Familiar with plant P&IDs, SOPs, Work instructions, Operation and control logics as well as the emergency operation procedures and any other related documents.
• Monitor all parameters of the unit and enter periodic readings on log sheets.
• Summarize all activities/events that took place during his shift in the log book.
• Follow the instructions of the Shift Charge Engineer and Shift Supervisor and coordinate with other Operators in regard to all activities.
• Be alert and take quick actions during abnormal operating conditions.
• Coordinate and ensure Lock Out & Tag Out during the isolation of equipment for maintenance as per the approved Permit To Work procedure.
• Normalize the equipment after cancellation when instructed to do so.
• Inspect the unit and auxiliaries during the shift to make sure that all equipment parameters are within limits.
• Report abnormalities to the Shift Supervisor / SCE.
• Perform the periodic protection tests under the supervision of SCE/Supervisor and maintain records.
• Perform equipment change over according to preset schedules.
• Raise work requests or defect notes for faulty equipment and follow up for the defect rectification.
• Assist in the training and familiarization of new operators.
• Report near misses and implement prescribed risk controls.
• Report deviations in Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental Management System.
• Ensure proper waste disposal measures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Specifications

Educational

Desired: Diploma in Engineering is a must.

Preferred: Bachelor of Engineering.

Minimum Experience

Minimum: 5 years in the same position.

Required Skills

• Generic awareness of Quality, Occupational Health & Safety and Environment Management system principles
• Knowledge of identification, classification and disposal of waste
• Knowledge of Emission Monitoring
• Knowledge of environmental and health impact of chemicals being used in the plant
• Knowledge of firefighting equipment

• Should be well conversed with Power/Water plant operational activities.
