Job summary

WISKOTS is seeking a Business Development Engineer in Al Khobar to bridge our technical field team, commercial group, and operations. You will assess site conditions, develop scopes, and shape proposals for coating, inspection, and composite repair work.

The role requires travel across Saudi Arabia, including emergencies, with responsibilities from client visits to tendering, negotiations, and order handovers.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Petroleum, Industrial, or Materials Engineering.
  • 2-5 years in business development, technical sales, or field engineering within industrial services, inspection, or oil and gas.
  • Willingness to travel across Saudi Arabia and mobilize quickly.
  • Strong written and spoken English; Saudi driving license.
  • Experience with tendering and prequalification with operators and major service companies.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct client site visits across the Kingdom to assess scope and technical requirements for coating, inspection, and composite repair work.
  • Prepare site visit reports capturing scope, risks, resource needs, and cost drivers.
  • Screen enquiries and tenders against capability, capacity, and margin criteria; submit go/no-go recommendations with technical and commercial rationale.
  • Prepare proposals and quotations; collaborate with engineering and operations to ensure deliverables; support contract negotiations.
  • Organize and lead handover meetings to Operations for every awarded contract; document scope, assumptions, exclusions, and commercial terms before mobilization.
  • Support the operations team during project execution and coordinate job execution, especially for emergency call‑outs requiring rapid mobilization.
  • Maintain CRM data quality: records for leads, opportunities, accounts, and contacts; follow up on open deals; log interactions with clients, suppliers, and partners.
  • Produce weekly pipeline reports and forecasts for management.
  • Build relationships with client technical, integrity, maintenance, and procurement contacts; coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors for data, quotations, and lead times.
  • Plan and organize company participation at exhibitions and conferences, including collateral, logistics, staffing, and pre-event client meetings; capture leads in CRM.
  • Conduct ongoing market analysis covering trends, competitor activity, and upcoming projects for service expansion.

Role Overview

The Business Development Engineer reports directly to the Business Development Manager. The position combines technical field assessment, commercial follow-through, and hands‑on execution support, linking our clients, commercial team, and operations delivery.

Kingdom‑wide scope:

the base location is Al Khobar, but the role requires travel to and mobilization in any city within Saudi Arabia, including at short notice for emergency and call‑out work.

Key Responsibilities

Requirements
Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Petroleum, Industrial, or Materials Engineering
  • 2-5 years in business development, technical sales, proposals, or field engineering within industrial services, inspection, or oil and gas
  • Proven experience conducting client site visits and producing technical scope assessments
  • Availability to travel and mobilize to any location within Saudi Arabia, including at short notice
  • Working knowledge of tendering and prequalification with Saudi operators, EPC contractors, and major service companies
  • Hands‑on CRM experience with a proven record of data discipline
  • Strong written and spoken English; able to produce client‑facing technical and commercial reports
  • Valid Saudi driving license; transferable iqama for non‑Saudi candidates
Preferred
  • Field execution or project coordination experience on shutdown, turnaround, or emergency repair scopes
  • Familiarity with NDT methods, particularly advanced ultrasonic testing
  • Exposure to pipeline coating or composite repair systems
  • Existing relationships within Saudi Aramco, SABIC, petrochemical operators, or their contractor base
  • Experience supporting exhibition and conference participation
  • Understanding of HSE requirements, permit‑to‑work systems, and gate pass procedures
  • Basic estimating and cost build‑up capability
  • Arabic language skills
