Job summary

ALEC Holdings is seeking an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to support cost control, take-offs, and reporting on frontline hospitality, retail and commercial projects across the region.

You will work under the Quantity Surveyor and Commercial Department to ensure timely cost control, accurate documentation, and client reporting. Strong communication and exacting attention to detail are essential for this role.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor in construction.
• Experience in project cost control, quantity take-offs, and delay/claims management.
• Proficiency in MS Office, CCS, and data analysis.
• QS degree or equivalent; professional accreditation preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare project start-up forms and insurance documentation.
• Assist in preparing insurance claims and notifications for delays, loss, and expenses.
• Support in developing delay/disruption claims (Time and Cost).
• Prepare BOQs and quantity take-offs from drawings.
• Measure site progress and assist in preparing payment applications.
• Maintain and verify site asset registers.
• Assist in compiling monthly progress applications for the client.
• Review subcontractor payment applications and documentation.
• Support preparation of payments and contra charges.
• Contribute to monthly cost reporting and documentation.
• Promote effective communication within the commercial team.
• Uphold ALEC’s professional image at all times.

About Your Team

You’ll report to the Quantity Surveyor, working as part of the Commercial Department on projects across the region. You’ll collaborate closely with other quantity surveyors, project managers, subcontractors, and site teams to ensure timely and accurate cost control, documentation, and reporting processes.

Your Role

What We’re Looking For

• Experience: 1-3 years as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction field
• Knowledge: Project cost control, quantity take-offs, delay/claims management
• Expertise: MS Office, CCS, financial reporting and data analysis

• QS degree or equivalent
• Professional accreditation (preferred)
• Excellent communication and coordination skills
• Strong attention to detail and analytical ability
• Commitment to quality, integrity, and continuous improvement
