Job summary

MathWorks seeks an Application Engineer to collaborate with aerospace/defense, oil/gas, and telecom industries, delivering MATLAB and Simulink demonstrations to support sales.

You will develop model-based design components, learn customer workflows, and create application examples to showcase engineering solutions across various sectors.

Qualifications

• A bachelor's degree in engineering (Aerospace, Electrical, Mechanical, Communications).
• At least 2 years with MATLAB and Simulink in signal processing, RF and wireless applications.
• Excellent English communication and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

As an Application Engineer, you will be working with innovative companies in the aerospace/defense, oil/gas, communications, automation and machinery industries.

You will be responsible for contributing to the marketing and sales of MathWorks’ sophisticated engineering products; assisting in the development of components of software product models and simulations to demonstrate the use of MathWorks’ MATLAB and Simulink products; developing components of technical engineering demonstrations of MathWorks’ Simulink and MATLAB products to support the company’s sales activities; assisting senior team members in engagements with prospective and existing customers to understand their workflow and identifying relevant MathWorks engineering solutions; and developing application examples and simulations to demonstrate how MathWorks engineering software addresses

Qualifications

• A bachelor's degree in engineering (Aerospace, Electrical, Mechanical, Communications).
• At least 2 years of experience with MATLAB and Simulink in signal processing, radio frequency and wireless communications applications or equivalent academic experience.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills in English.

Special Requirements

• Demonstrated expertise in model-based design using MATLAB and Simulink tools, including modeling, simulating and analyzing design, testing and deployment workflows for control design and automation applications in a range of industries -- automotive, aerospace, and robotics.
• Demonstrated expertise supporting customers with engineering data analysis workflows using MATLAB and Simulink.
• Demonstrated expertise in developing and delivering technical product demonstrations to customers and assessing product marketing strategy.

Daily activities include

• Technical engagement with customers to understand their project requirements and workflows and then recommend MathWorks technical capabilities.
• Prepare and deliver technical presentations and demonstrate application examples (onsite visits, seminars, etc.).
• Work with sales and marketing teams to create strategies for different accounts and markets.
• Execute in-depth technical engagements with customers evaluating MathWorks products.
• Technical support for customers using MATLAB, Simulink, and the entire suite of products.
