Job summary

CodeNinja in Riyadh is seeking an Appian QA & Automation Engineer to own quality for Appian applications at a leading bank in KSA. Onsite role in Riyadh, requiring strong test engineering experience on Appian or comparable BPM/low-code platforms.

You will build test strategies, automate UI and API tests, embed tests in CI/CD, and lead UAT with business users to ensure robust quality metrics and PDPL-compliant test data.

Qualifications

• 10+ years total experience, including 6+ years hands-on Appian development.
• Appian Certified Senior Developer is mandatory.
• Notice period of 1 month, or immediate joiners preferred.
• Expert in SAIL, Appian Portals/Sites and Appian Data Fabric; strong data modeling and SQL skills.

Responsibilities

• Define the test strategy across functional, integration, regression, UAT, performance and security testing.
• Build and maintain UI automation for Appian using Appian Selenium API, FitNesse for Appian or Cucumber-based frameworks.
• Automate API and integration tests for Appian Web APIs and downstream services (Karate, REST Assured or Postman/Newman).
• Embed automated tests in CI/CD pipelines with quality gates before each deployment.
• Run performance and load testing (JMeter, Gatling or Appian performance tooling) for peak banking volumes.
• Validate role-based access, maker-checker controls, data masking and audit logs.
• Manage test data and environments, including masked production-like data compliant with PDPL.
• Lead UAT with business users, track defects through to closure and report quality metrics to delivery leadership.

About Role

We’re looking for an Appian QA & Automation Engineer to own quality for Appian applications at a leading bank in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. You will build the test strategy and automation that let the team release frequently without regressions in critical banking workflows. This is an onsite role in Riyadh, open to all nationalities, requiring strong test engineering experience on Appian or comparable BPM/low-code platforms.

Must Haves

• Expert in SAIL, interface design patterns and Appian Portals/Sites
• Strong Appian Data Fabric skills: record types, sync, relationships, custom record fields and record-level security
• Data modeling and SQL (views, indexes, stored procedures)
• Eye for UX, with experience working alongside UX/UI designers
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting and communication skills

Nice to Have

• Experience with Appian AI features (AI Skills, document extraction, AI Copilot)
• Appian Component Plug-ins (React/JavaScript)
• Figma familiarity
• Customer-facing portal experience in banking
