Job summary

CloserHire is seeking a Ukrainian-speaking interpreter to translate Ukrainian to English from Portugal, working fully remotely. EU citizenship or valid Portuguese work permit is required for this role.

You will join our client’s remote Ukrainian team, delivering accurate translations while maintaining neutrality and adhering to client guidelines across Insurance, Legal, and Medical contexts. Start date 17/9 and work-from-home in Portugal are provided, with a 24/7 rotational schedule and lunch

Qualifications

• Ukrainian language level, both oral and written (mandatory).
• C1 English level (mandatory).
• EU citizenship or valid Portuguese work permit required.

Responsibilities

• Render accurate Ukrainian–English translations, preserving meaning, tone and style.
• Uphold correct grammar and syntax in both languages.
• Provide faithful renditions including all conversation details.
• Follow customer instructions, manage call flow and avoid taking over the call.
• Understand customer-service level terminology in Insurance, Legal, Medicine (General and Forensic).

About the role

Join our client’s full work from home Ukrainian Team in Portugal and provide excellent Ukrainian to English translations. You require EU citizenship or a valid Portuguese work permit for this role.

What you'll do

• Render correct concepts and meanings between Ukrainian and English following complexity, clarity, tone, and style from one language into another
• Uphold the correct rules for grammar and syntax in both languages
• Provide strict renditions of the messages including every detail of the conversation
• Follow instructions of customers, manage the flow of the call and avoid taking over the call
• Understand protocol and terminology at the customer service level in the following industries: Insurance, Legal, Medicine (General and Forensic)

What we're looking for

• Ukrainian language level, both oral and written, as well as C1 English High School Diploma (mandatory)
• Education in languages/translation/interpretation or related fields will be considered as an advantage
• Excellent listening, retention and note-taking skills
• Ability to explain certain cultural concepts to avoid miscommunication
• Ability to concentrate, stay detached from the conversation, and always remain neutral and objective
• Reliable, autonomous and highly disciplined
• Confident and organized
• Time management skills with maximum responsibility
• Ability to work with performance goals
