Job summary

Axians in Lisbon, Portugal is seeking a Test Leader (French speaker) to manage software testing activities from planning to validation. You will lead test teams, design test strategies, and coordinate testing efforts across Agile projects, ensuring quality and timely delivery while coordinating with stakeholders.

The role requires strong knowledge of testing methodologies, experience with Octane/JIRA/Confluence, and the ability to drive Go/No Go decisions.

TEST LEADER (FRENCH SPEAKER)

What We Are Looking For

We are looking for a Test Leader with experience in software testing, capable of leading test teams, working in Agile environments, and ensuring the successful execution of testing processes from planning through final validation. You will be responsible for designing test strategies, coordinating testing activities, ensuring quality standards, managing stakeholders, and supporting project delivery through effective test planning, execution, reporting, and defect management.

What You Will Do on a Daily Basis

• Contribute to the definition of test strategies, Master Test Plans, and testing schedules.
• Ensure the testability of backlog items and delivered features.
• Design, execute, and supervise testing activities while ensuring alignment with project requirements and deliverables.
• Coordinate and support test analysts throughout the testing lifecycle.
• Monitor test execution, identify risks, and provide regular reporting to project stakeholders.
• Provide the necessary information to support Go/No Go decisions.
• Input test cases, execution results, and defects in the appropriate testing tools.
• Manage defects, support anomaly prioritization and resolution, and participate in validation activities.
• Produce and communicate testing reports, including progress updates, quality indicators, and Go/No Go recommendations.
• Ensure testing deliverables are created, validated, and communicated according to established standards and procedures.
• Manage testing committees focused on test progress tracking and defect management.
• Contribute to the technical and methodological excellence of testing practices.
• Promote knowledge sharing and testing best practices within the organization.

Your Key Skills

• Strong knowledge of software testing methodologies and best practices.
• Ability to build test strategies, test plans, and testing schedules.
• Experience managing and coordinating software testers.
• Knowledge of Agile methodologies and project delivery environments.
• Experience with Octane, JIRA, and Confluence.
• Knowledge of API testing.
• Knowledge of SQL.
• Risk identification, assessment, and follow-up.
• Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.li>
• Excellent coordination, communication, and stakeholder management capabilities.

Your Main Qualifications

• Degree in Informatics, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in software testing activities.
• Solid understanding of testing methodologies and ISTQB principles and vocabulary.
• Experience in test strategy definition and test execution management.
• Experience with test management and defect tracking tools.li>
• Experience in insurance or banking application testing is considered a plus.
• Fluency in French.
• Availability to travel outside Portugal when required.
