Job summary

Aubay Portugal is seeking an Electrical Engineer to design, integrate, validate, and commission electrical systems including UPS, power distribution and fiber optics in a hybrid Lisbon setting.

Ideal candidates have a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering with 3+ years in electrical design, fiber optic experience, and strong English/Portuguese communication. You will deliver detailed technical documentation, support site tests, and engage in cross-team design reviews.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field with 3+ years of electrical system design experience.
• Experience designing and integrating electrical distribution systems for industrial, transport, railway, or infrastructure projects.
• Proficiency in electrical calculations and electrical engineering documentation.
• Fiber optic network design experience including topology, capacity planning, and passive components.
• Fluency in English and Portuguese.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, integration, validation, installation, and commissioning of electrical systems (UPS, power distribution, fiber optic networks).
• Manage and formalize technical requirements, developing comprehensive documentation for project phases.
• Plan and coordinate UPS and cable subsystem development, defining key technical interfaces.
• Participate in design reviews and provide on-site support during installation, FAT and commissioning.
• Contribute to training and ensure configuration control with the Configuration Manager.

What will you do?

• Lead the design, integration, validation, installation, and commissioning of electrical systems, including UPS, power distribution, and fiber optic networks.
• Manage and formalize technical requirements, developing comprehensive technical documentation for various project phases.
• Plan and coordinate the development of UPS and cable subsystems, defining and managing crucial technical interfaces.
• Participate actively in Design Reviews, providing essential support during on-site installation, field testing, and commissioning (FAT).
• Contribute to technical training and ensure stringent configuration control in collaboration with the Configuration Manager.

• Proficiency in electrical calculations (e.g., load assessment, voltage drop, short-circuit analysis) and preparing comprehensive electrical engineering documentation.
• Demonstrated experience in fiber optic network design, including topology definition, capacity planning, and the selection of relevant passive optical components.
• Good knowledge of optical transmission principles, link budget calculations, network resilience concepts, and familiarity with MS Office.
• CAD Design experience is a plus.
