Job summary

Aubay Portugal is seeking an experienced Java/Full Stack Engineer to join our Lisbon team. You will participate in the full lifecycle of application modernization, from analysis to implementation, delivering REST APIs and transforming systems into microservices.

You will work with distributed systems, containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes) and apply CI/CD and DevOps practices. English (B2) and French (B1) required, with a proactive technical leadership mindset.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of hands-on Java / Full Stack engineering experience.
• Strong in Java 7-21, Spring Boot and Spring Framework.
• Experience in application modernization and legacy code remediation.
• Proficient in DevOps, CI/CD pipelines and container tech.
• Familiar with AI-assisted development tools.
• Fluent English (B2) and French (B1) with good communication.
• Alignment with integrity and ethics; strong customer focus and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Participate in full lifecycle of application modernization initiatives from analysis to implementation.

What will you do?

• Participate in the full lifecycle of application modernization initiatives, from technical and functional analysis to implementation.
• Lead the technical analysis of existing applications and solutions, including effort estimation and development planning.
• Modernize legacy Java applications, developing and integrating REST APIs and transforming systems into microservices architectures.
• Work with distributed systems, containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes), and apply CI/CD and DevOps practices.
• Leverage AI tools, such as GitHub Copilot, to accelerate and enhance development processes.
• Provide technical guidance, identify potential issues, and propose improvements to ensure successful project delivery.
