EID, a leading high-tech Portuguese defence contractor, is seeking a System Engineer to join its team. You will analyze customer needs, translate them into system requirements, and support the design of integrated software and hardware solutions.

The role requires a university degree in Electronic Engineering or related field, experience with virtualization, networks, CCNA, and strong Portuguese and English communication.

Qualificações

• A university degree (or equivalent) in Electronic Engineering, Communications Engineering, Telecommunications, or related field.
• Experience producing clear technical documentation at high and low levels.
• Experience in virtualized environments and hyperconverged infrastructures.
• Network certifications such as CCNA or equivalent hands-on experience.
• Solid understanding of radio and digital communication systems.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to diagnose complex issues.
• Advanced knowledge of routing and switching, including related protocols.
• Strong Portuguese and English communication (written and spoken).

Responsabilidades

What You’ll Do

• Analyze customer needs and translate them into clear, structured system requirements;

• Evaluate how existing systems can support new and evolving requirements;

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve issues across software, hardware, and integrated systems;

• Contribute to the design and documentation of system architectures, including both high-level and low-level designs;

• Support the implementation and optimization of communication and network infrastructures.

What You’ll Bring

• A university degree (or equivalent experience) in Electronic Engineering, Communications Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field;

• Experience producing clear technical documentation at both high and low levels;

• Experience working in virtualized environments and hyperconverged infrastructures;

• Network certifications such as CCNA, or equivalent hands-on experience;

• Solid understanding of radio and digital communication systems;

• Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to break down complex issues and identify root causes;

• Advanced knowledge of routing and switching, including: network architecture design; configuration of firewalls, routers, and switches; and protocols such as OSPF, BGP, VRRP, IPSEC, and VLAN.

• Strong communication skills in both Portuguese and English (written and spoken);
