Hiire is supporting a leading Portuguese technology company, EID, recruiting a Lead Test Engineer to join the Engineering team.

In this role you will lead test planning, design, and tool selection, coordinate with the Client during technical visits, and manage contractor test resources to ensure delivery on schedule in Defence sector projects. Strong knowledge of Jira/Xray and extensive test experience are required.

Qualificações

• Minimum Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
• At least 7 years of experience in design and execution of information systems tests.
• Working knowledge of Jira, specifically the Xray test management module.

What You’ll Do

We are seeking an experienced Lead Test Engineer for an interesting defense project. In this role, you will lead test planning, design, and tool selection efforts, establishing the standards and procedures that guide all testing activities. You will coordinate closely with the Purchaser on test support requirements and manage Contractor test resources to ensure successful project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Direct test planning, design, and tools selection: Define the overall testing strategy and select appropriate tools and methodologies for the project. Plan overall project activities, including validation of technical requirements against the established test catalog.

• Establish guidelines for test procedures and reports: Create standardized frameworks that ensure consistency and quality across all testing activities.

• Coordinate directly with the Client during technical visits to EID, creating and executing integration tests under their observation.

• Coordinate with the Purchaser on test support requirements, ensuring alignment on expectations, scope, and deliverables.

• Manage Contractor test resources: Oversee testing teams, allocate responsibilities, and monitor performance to meet project milestones.

What You’ll Bring

• Education: Minimum Bachelor's degree in Engineering.

• Experience: At least 7 years of experience in the design and execution of information systems tests. Working knowledge of Jira, specifically the Xray test management module (considered a strong plus).

• Domain Knowledge: Radio communications, satellite systems, network communications, and information architecture.

• Domain Experience: Demonstrated experience with deployable systems - familiarity with systems that are configured, integrated, and deployed in operational environments.

• Strong communication skills: Able to liaise effectively with stakeholders, contractors, and team members at all levels.

• Team collaboration: Works constructively within cross-functional teams and fosters a cooperative testing culture.

• Proactivity: Anticipate issues, identify improvements, and take initiative without waiting for direction.

• Systematic process development: Demonstrate ease in developing structured, repeatable processes that improve the efficiency of testing-related tasks.
