Job summary

Claranet limited in Lisbon is seeking a Systems Administrator to join our internal IT team. You will install, configure, and maintain Windows servers, manage VMware and Hyper-V environments, and develop automation with PowerShell and VBScript to streamline tasks.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a systems administrator.
• Proficient in Windows, Unix/Linux and virtualization (VMware/Hyper-V).
• Knowledge of TCP/IP networks, routing, IP addressing and VLANs.
• PowerShell scripting and automation: develop and automate tasks.
• Office365 administration: Azure, Exchange Online (Hybrid), SharePoint, Teams.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain Windows servers for optimal performance and security.
• Manage and optimize VMware hosts; setup, configuration, troubleshooting.
• Develop and maintain PowerShell and VBScript automation scripts.
• Oversee deployment of applications on servers and ensure proper configuration.
• Monitor system performance; identify issues and implement reliability improvements.
• Enforce security policies, patches, and updates to keep systems secure.
• Document configurations, procedures, and changes for knowledge continuity.
• Collaborate with IT teams and departments on various projects.

Right now, we are looking for a Systems Administrator to integrate our internal team, based in Lisbon.

Your responsibilities include:

• Install,configure, and maintain Windows Servers, ensuring optimal performance andsecurity;
  
• Manage andoptimize VMWare hosts, including setup, configuration, and troubleshooting;
  
• Develop andmaintain scripts using PowerShell and VBScript to automate repetitive tasks andstreamline processes;
  
• Oversee thedeployment of applications, ensuring they are correctly installed andconfigured on servers;
  
• Continuouslymonitor system performance, identify issues, and implement solutions to ensuresystem reliability and efficiency;
  
• Ensuresystems are secure by implementing and maintaining security policies, patches,and updates;
  
• Maintain detailed documentation of system configurations,procedures, and changes to ensure knowledge continuity;
  
• Work closely with other IT professionals and departments tosupport various IT projects and initiatives.
  

You must have:

• At last 5years of relevant experience as a system administrator;
  
• Strongcomputer skills, including proficiency in Windows, Unix/Linux, andvirtualization environments (e.g. VMware, Hyper-V);
  
• Knowledgeof structured networks and TCP/IP, including understanding of network routingprotocols, IP addressing, subnetting, and VLANs;
  
• PowerShellScripting: Develop and automate tasks using PowerShell scripting;
  
• Office365Administration: Administer Office365 services, including Azure, Exchange Online(Hybrid), SharePoint, and Teams;
